What is Youthbank?
YouthBank are a group of young volunteers aged 12â18 who form a group of young grant makers. The young grant makers fund projects and ideas developed by other young people across the city. This means that people get a real chance to fund youth activities and projects in their local community.
What will I be doing if I get involved?
Youâll take part in training with other interested young people and then explore your communityâs needs. There are three Youthbank groups, so youâll meet other young people from across your area.
Youâll regularly make decisions about whether or not to give money to other young people to run community projects based on whether you think theyâre a good idea.
How will this benefit my community?
Youâll help your community by making sure that more young people have access to activities to get involved in, more chances to express themselves and learn skills they need. You will set the priorities, so youâll have a say in what activities get the go ahead.
What will I get out of it?
Youâll have a fantastic opportunity to get involved in your local community, get lots of experience that can be used on CVs, in interviews and for college and university applications. Youâll also get some real qualifications and awards to help too.
Itâs a great opportunity for you to build your skills and confidence.
How can I get involved?
Scan the QR code or visit our website to find out more, or if youâre not ready to sign up, drop us an e-mail and we will have a chat about the best way you can get involved.

Nominees do not need to be GWHA tenants or owners, but they must live within the local community.

Senior Staff Surgery â âYou Said, We Didâ Update
We were pleased to host our first Senior Staff Surgery on Monday 11 May, welcoming 26 tenants.
As part of our commitment to listening and responding, weâve published a summary leaflet highlighting the key themes raised and the actions taken under our âYou Said, We Didâ approach.
You can view the full update here:
https://gwha.org.uk/housing/?id=948
The leaflet has also been shared directly with all attendees using their preferred contact method.
We look forward to continuing these conversations at our next surgery, taking place at Kelvin West Parish Church on 25 August.
Community Engagement Events At our Annual Tenantâs Conference in January 2024, tenants told us they wanted more informal opportunities to speak directly with senior staff, closer to home and focused on the issues that matter most in their own communities.
