🎅🏻 Festive Science Trips for £4 per pupil
To celebrate our 25th birthday, we're bringing back our 2001 prices for a limited number of school visits. Every trip includes an activity:

• Santa’s Starry Adventure – a Planetarium show for Early Years-P2
• Seasonal Science Spectacular – a festive Science Show for P3-P7
• Santa’s Sleigh Challenge – an engineering workshop for P4-P7

🚂 The Polar Express in IMAX 3D
10 & 11 December | £9 per pupil, including Science Mall entry.

Fully funded experiences and discounted visits are also available for eligible schools.

🛰 What would you call a mission to clean up space?

Space debris is a growing problem, but new technology could help make orbit safer for future generations.

The UK Space Agency is asking people across the UK to help name its pioneering Active Debris Removal mission. Built by ClearSpace UK, the spacecraft will use British robotics and autonomous navigation technology to capture and remove two defunct satellites from low Earth orbit.

The winning name will feature on the mission patch and the spacecraft itself! 👀

• How to enter: Suggest a mission name of up to two words and explain in no more than 150 words how it reflects the theme: keeping space clean and safe for future generations.

• Open from 15 October to 10 December 2026.

• Open to UK residents, with a dedicated schools category for pupils aged 7–18. Entries for under-18s must be submitted by an adult.

Have you seen the latest addition to our outdoor spaces? 🌿

We were grateful last week to support our partners RSE and Biomatrix Water with a loan of one of our glorious floating islands to demonstrate Biomatrix Water's floating island technology, as part of International Water Association's World Water Congress & Exhibition.

Grateful to our partners for our beautiful new floating wetland, which is sure to become a hub of biodiversity and nature-based solutions as it joins its three existing neighbours in our quayside space. We can't wait to see how it flourishes!
