So the LGR decision is now officially scrapped. Reform led Nottinghamshire County Council's legal action forced the Labour Govt to back down.

By Following the correct evidence regarding the creation and joining up of council services and finances meant that when the govt ran roughshod over their own rules that set out how LGR should be implemented, and in the process opened themselves upto the accusation of gerrymandering, that would then never have stood up to legal scrutiny, which was clearly the case when tested.

Excellent question by Lee Anderson at todays PMQ's regarding planning decisions and the criminals running Ashfield District Council. The commissioners certainly do need sending in and getting to the bottom of whats going off there.

Andy Burnham's officially spent 100 days in office as Prime Minister. So what's he achieved so far?

He's reached £3 trillion in debt.

He's overseen diesel to £2 a litre.

He released 1,350 dangerous prisoners onto our streets.

He let over 8,400 illegal migrants into Britain including super dinghies.

He locked down the People of Portsmouth to smuggle in hundreds of migrants

He surged inflation to 3.5% and rising

He betrayed Brexit and opened the door to free movement.

His Home Secretary's ILR reforms have been totally sidelined.

He decided to dump thousands of illegal migrants into small villages like Piddington.

He's cut £2 billion from frontline Army equipment and £800,000 from military housing.

He's failed to deport Shabir Ahmed, the Rochdale r**e gang ringleader.

He made British borrowing costs higher than they've been in 28 years.

Burnham hasn't “brought back hope”. He’s plunged us deeper into third world decline while smiling.

Burnham is the left wing socialist smiling assassin. He's a feel good, nothing to see here PM put there to gaslight you into thinking that everything is OK whilst everything gets worse. We have the worst of all possible worlds, high tax, no growth so expect the crash. Labour has no plan, no idea and forget the Tories, they caused this.

Only Reform UK will take the radical change needed to turn this country around. Britain needs Reform 🇬🇧 and fast.

We are reminding drivers to ‘think pedestrian’ as the winter months approach.

With the clocks going back and more journeys being made during the hours of darkness, motorists are being reminded to look out for walkers, joggers and other pedestrians.

Because the vast majority of fatal collisions involving pedestrians happen in 30mph zones, drivers are encouraged to take extra time to look before moving off, reversing or pulling out from junctions, especially in poor weather.

The warning comes as part of Operation Dark Night - a nationwide educational campaign timed to coincide with the clocks going back and the evenings drawing in.

Heidi Duffy, our Traffic Management Officer, said: "For good reason, we tend to associate danger with high-speed roads such as motorways and A-roads.

"That means we can develop a false sense of security when driving at lower speeds through familiar local areas, but in reality this is when we are most at risk of knocking over and killing a pedestrian, particularly when rain or other inclement weather is a factor.

"Many of those pedestrians may be especially vulnerable due to their age, and its up to drivers to give pedestrians priority when they are crossing the road and to look out for them.

"So our message this autumn and winter is simple: look out for others when you are behind the wheel, more importantly, 'think pedestrian' and help ensure everyone gets home safely."

In the past three years, 373 pedestrians have been killed or seriously injured in collisions involving vehicles on our roads.

Of those 373 pedestrians, 65 were children under 16 years and 101 were aged 60 or over.

We are determined to see these numbers reduce in line with the National Road Safety Strategy targets released by the Government in January 2026.

These are a 65% reduction in all KSI's casualties and a 70% reduction in child KSI casualties by 2035.

It was a real pleasure to visit Kingsway Hall Lunch Club in Forest Town this afternoon in my role as Cabinet Member for Communities and Public Health at Nottinghamshire County Council.

I was warmly welcomed by Bob and Sylvia Wyatt, who do a fantastic job running Kingsway Hall for the benefit of the local community.

I had the opportunity to meet some of the lovely people who attend the lunch club and was even treated to a proper sit-down dinner of sausage, mash and vegetables, followed by jam sponge and custard provided by Perrys Pantry. Absolutely lovely!

What really struck me was listening to some of the people who use the hall. For many, places like Kingsway Hall are a lifeline. Somewhere to meet friends, enjoy a game of cards or bingo, have a meal and, importantly, enjoy some company.

We sometimes underestimate just how important places like this are. They help tackle loneliness and social isolation, support people's wellbeing and help older residents remain independent in their own homes for longer.

I'm particularly proud that Nottinghamshire County Council , through our Local Communities Fund, is able to support organisations like Kingsway Hall.

A huge thank you to Bob and Sylvia for inviting me along and for everything you do. You've created something really special here, and I'm always happy to help wherever I can in my role.

Today Robert Jenrick set out 64 immediate policy positions to get Britain working again and grow the economy. You won't even get this level of detail from the Chancellor later this week.

First thing is to admit the current position. Britain is broke. Our national debt is 3 trillion and growing rapidly. We are bankrupt. To fix it, we need to start growing the economy and fast.

£40 billion to cuts of wasteful public spending in Year 1, £80 billion in total over the full parliament.

Let's be absolutely clear, we cannot go on spending or tinkering around the edges anymore.

These are Labour MPs. They are Bell Ribeiro-Addy, Dawn Butler, Nadia Whittome and Clive Lewis.

They want to hand trillions of pounds of your money to foreign governments as reparations for slavery that happened hundreds of years ago. Today, we have a society here that is fractured unlike anything that's gone before, the social contract is falling apart, we're on the verge of a serious fiscal crisis and yet these student Activist MP's are more interested in foreign nations in the Caribbean or Palestine. To be clear, the money that they are talking about, we don't even have so would have to be borrowed and would impoverish and bankrupt this nation in its entirety forever.

Taxpayers’ money is not theirs to give away. If this is their priority, we need to know whose interests they’re working for because it certainly is not in the interests of the UK or their constituents. They need voting out of office and any like them who prioritise foreign nations over this country.

🌧️ The weekend is within touching distance, but before you lock in your plans, take a moment to read our advice about the upcoming stormy weather!

Storm Boelo is on its way and a Met Office yellow weather warning is in place across Nottinghamshire from midday tomorrow until 9pm on Sunday.

If you're driving, make sure to:

❗ consider if your journey is necessary,
🚗 drive slowly to reduce the impact of the high winds on your car,
✅ prepare yourself when approaching exposed areas of road,
🚚 take care when overtaking, especially high sided vehicles,
❗ hold the steering wheel firmly,
🚲 give cyclists, motorcyclists, lorries and buses more room than usual,
👀 keep an eye on what is happening to other vehicles,
↕️ keep extra distance between you and the car in front,
🌳 avoid parking under trees, near buildings, telephone lines or other structures that could represent a falling-danger in severe winds.
