Going Digital: The GFC Advances Digital Transformation with dWTS Staff and FSO Training

Today, the Guyana Forestry Commission initiated its first in a series of information sessions for the Digital Wood Tracking System (dWTS), open to all staff and FSOs. The dWTS represents a major step toward paperless, smarter wood tracking.

The hybrid sessions, held from May 19 to 22, will introduce the system and modules applicable to each user type.

Over 40 GFC staff attended virtually and in person. Participating departments included the Forest Monitoring Division (FMD), Forest Resources Management Division (FRMD), the Management Information Systems Unit (MISU), the Planning & Development Division, the Communities Development Unit, the Forestry Training Centre Inc. (FTCI), and supervisors from various forest stations.

The training covered core functionalities, including user account setup, tag request management, and tag handling procedures.
