The Alliance stands strong together 💪

More than 6,000 personnel, 30+ Allied ships and aircraft, and 15 nations came together for , advancing integration with NATO commands including Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum and Commander, Task Force Baltic to train as we fight.

Operating as one unified, lethal force strengthens NATO’s ability to safeguard the Baltic Sea’s vital trade routes—through which up to 15% of global cargo traffic moves—and protect critical infrastructure essential to both European and American prosperity.

Together, we are ready, resilient and prepared to respond.

🇱🇻🤝🇺🇸 Partnership Matters

Yesterday, Vice Adm. J.T. Anderson, Commander, U.S. 6th Fleet, and Rear Adm. Māris Polencs, Chief of the Latvian Naval Forces, honored Occupation of the Latvian Republic Day commemorating the Soviet Union’s occupation of Latvia on June 17, 1940, in a ceremony at the Freedom Monument in Riga, Latvia.

Since Latvia regained independence, the U.S. and Latvia have worked hard to build our shared transatlantic values through cooperation in security, economic development, education, and an open, inclusive society. Collaboration through exercises like enable NATO Allies like Latvia to take important steps toward generating the strategic readiness for them to lead Europe’s conventional deterrence and defense.

🌊 On the move.

USS Mount Whitney (LCC 20) transits the Skagerrak Strait during , joining Allied forces operating across the Baltic Sea region.

As the command and control ship for U.S forces during the exercise, Mount Whitney helps connect maritime forces from across the Alliance, enabling coordination, communication, and interoperability at sea and ashore.
