Save the date: 8-9 December in Brussels

The EU Agri-Food Days 2026 will explore resilience across four interconnected dimensions: economic, environmental, digital and social, bringing together the key issues, opportunities and solutions shaping the future of Europe’s agri-food sector. Discussions will look at how EU policies and the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), can help the sector navigate these challenges and build greater resilience.

4th edition of the EU Agri-Food Days from 8 - 9 December 2026 in Brussels, the platform for dialogue between EU agri-food system stakeholders, civil society, academia and policymakers.

🌟 Horizon Europe Project of the month 🌟

Planning a Digital Twin for Greener Road Infrastructure PATTERN

EU-funded PATTERN project aims to establish a pathway to connect EU structural funds, which support regional economic development, with scientific research programs. The project will use Malta as a test bed for the EU to understand how to deploy large-scale pilots with regional development funds. It will document processes and prepare three large-scale pilots, analysing traffic data developed from the MARVEL research project.

The PATTERN application supports RIS3 strategies and carbon reduction goals, thereby increasing the chances of success in obtaining regional development funding. This project has been funded under the WIDERA of Horizon Europe.

The projects main focus is to connect EU structural funds with research to improve regional economic development, utilizing Malta as a test bed for greener road infrastructure 🛣️ and traffic data analysis 📈

The inter-disciplinary skills of the PATTERN consortium partners have been put together to ensure success. 🤝 The Maltese partners are Greenroads Ltd; Agency For Infrastructure Malta and Acrosslimits Malta
