Knowing the signs of meningitis can help you act quickly. Look out for a sudden high fever, severe headache, stiff neck, sensitivity to light, confusion or drowsiness and a rash that does not fade under pressure. Vaccination can protect against certain types of meningitis. Speak to your healthcare provider about the vaccinations recommended for you and your family. If you suspect meningitis, seek urgent medical attention.
