Extension of Maintenance Work on Jos-Bauchi-Gombe 330kV Line to Enable the Completion of OPGW Stringing
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) wishes to inform the public of an extension to the scheduled outage on the Jos-Bauchi-Gombe 330kV Single Circuit transmission line, to enable the ompletion of Optic Fiber and Ground Wire, OPGW, stringing.
The maintenance work, which held Thursday to Sunday from 9:00am to 6:00pm from 9th April 2026, continued from 23rd May and is expected to end by the 30th of June 2026, within the same time phrame. The extension is to ensble contractors complete the OPGW stringing along the 276km Jos-Bauchi-Gombe line axis.
During this period, customers of Yola Distribution Company, YEDC, and Jos Distribution Company, JEDC, residing in Bauchi, Gombe, Damaturu and Maiduguri will experience limited supply from 9:00am to 6:00pm, Thursdays to Sundays only. Yola, Jalingo and surrounding areas will remain out of supply during the outage window. Power will be fully restored at the end of each day’s work in all the areas.
We understand the impact of outage on electricity customers affected by this. We are therefore working assiduously to ensure that work is completed as indicated. On completion, the project will improve grid monitoring, operations and efficiency.

TCN Restores Power to Mando-Kumbotso Transmission Line
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Kano Region, wishes to inform the public that the planned maintenance work on the Mando–Kumbotso 330kV Transmission Line has been completed, and the line restored to service at 16:33hrs today, 31st May 2026.
Consequently, normal bulk power transmission has been restored to Kano, Katsina, Jigawa States, parts of Bauchi and Yobe States, and Gazaoua in the Republic of Niger through the Kano DisCo.
TCN appreciates the patience and understanding of electricity consumers during the maintenance period.

NOTICE OF PLANNED OUTAGE ON MANDO–KUMBOTSO 330kV TRANSMISSION LINE
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Kano Region, hereby informs the public that its maintenance crew will carry out annual maintenance on its Mando–Kumbotso 330kV Transmission Line from 9am to 4pm on Sunday, 31st May, 2026.
The outage is necessary to enable TCN’s maintenance crew amend a damaged Red Phase Conductor on Tower T187 along the line route.
Consequently, Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) will be unable to off-take electricity to its customers across Kano, Katsina and Jigawa States, as well as parts of Bauchi and Yobe States, customers in Gazaoua (Niger Republic) would also be affected by the outage.
TCN apologises for any inconvenience this will cause consumers in the affected areas.
