Unwholesome Procurement activities are as a result of lack of knowledge, negligence and or corrupt tendencies of its handlers.

It is believed that training and professionalization in the area will go a long way in tackling some of the ill practices clogging the wheels of standard procurement practice, better service delivery, environmental sustainability and social well-being.

Delightedly, the Sustainable Procurement, Environmental and Social Standards Enhancement (SPESSE) project, initiated by the Federal Government of Nigeria is currently addressing these anomalies through sustainable human capacity development for better service delivery in public and private sectors and to enhance a sustainable future.

IPESS JOSTUM CENTER LEADER SHINES AT 2026 PROJECT CONTROL SUMMIT

In her unquenching thirst for excellence in project management and control, the Center Leader and Director, Institute of Procurement, Environmental and Social Standards (IPESS), Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi (JOSTUM), Professor, Lami Nnamonu, PMP recently received the 2026 Project Control Summit Dynamo Award in Montgomery, USA.

This prestigious international recognition reflects her outstanding leadership, professionalism, dedication to project management excellence, and remarkable contributions to the global project control community.

‎Professor Nnamonu received warm affirmations from co-participants, speakers, and volunteers during the Summit in testament to the impact of her personality, expertise, and professional excellence.

In an atmosphere of excitement, Professor Lami Nnamonu took to her LinkedIn page and wrote;

“I’m very happy to share that I won the 2026 Project Control Summit Dynamo Award. It was very humbling to receive ribbons from Summit co-participants, speakers and volunteers at Lake Conroe, Montgomery USA. The very first ribbon I received was, "Big Fun in a Little Package" and as we both laughed, another attendee standing nearby handed me 'Highly Rated' as he said, "I'm sure this perfectly describes you." That's how I was drawn into this year's adventure, which I had planned not to do. I can confirm that the saying is so true that “A plan is a plan because it is liable to change" lol! I use this opportunity to say a huge thank you to my Project Control family: thank you for believing in me, thank you for your affirmations expressed through the ribbons”.

The core objectives of the Project Control Summits are to celebrate excellence in project controls, foster innovation and provide a platform for professionals to connect and share insights. These summits aim to set new standards in project controls and project delivery, focusing on clarity, commitment, and the smart use of tools and technology. They are designed to equip attendees with actionable insights, foster meaningful connections, and propel their project controls skills to heights.
