The funeral, which brought together high-profile personalities, political leaders, and traditional rulers from across Benue State and beyond, was a celebration of a life dedicated to community development, discipline, and integrity.
Pa Ochai, fondly remembered as the "Old Soldier," was an illustrious son of Agila and a pillar of unity in the zone. Congratulations to the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) Diocese of Otukpo on a Successful 2026 Synod!
Otukpo, Benue State – The Office of Rt. Hon. James Oche KSC, Federal Commissioner of the Public Complaints Commission, is thrilled to extend heartfelt congratulations to the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) Diocese of Otukpo for the tremendous success of its 2026 Synod, which took place from May 8th to 10th, 2026. The theme, "Looking unto Jesus," rooted in Hebrews 12:2, encouraged attendees to maintain an unwavering focus on Jesus Christ throughout their spiritual journeys.
As a proud attendee of the Synod, Rt. Hon. James Oche expressed deep appreciation for the powerful messages shared during the event. The Rt. Revd. Benjamin Ameh Enwuchola, Diocesan and President of the Synod, delivered a compelling Bishop’s Charge, urging Christians to model their lives after Jesus. "The race of faith requires a singular focus on Christ,” reflected Rt. Hon. Oche, echoing the Bishop's analogy of the Christian faith as an athletic race. “As we strive toward our goals, it is vital to remain steadfast in our faith."
Enriching the Synod further, guest preacher The Rt. Revd. Godwin Adeyi Robinson, Bishop of Lafia Diocese, emphasized placing Jesus first in every endeavor. His call resonated deeply with attendees, underscoring the significance of prioritizing spiritual values in everyday life.
Moving a motion for the adoption of the Bishop’s Charge, Chancellor of the Diocese Barr. Joseph Oche passionately reiterated the importance of maintaining an "invitation to treat" posture, highlighting faithfulness and trust in Jesus as central themes of the Synod. He further posited, “you cannot approbate & reprobate in the Christian race”. This message inspired all present to deepen their relationship with Christ.
The high light of the Synod was the preferment of the Bishop’s Chaplain, Revd Emeka Achibie as a Canon.
The Synod fostered unity and fellowship within the community, bringing together dignitaries and faithful from various sectors. Rt. Hon. Oche expressed gratitude for the opportunity to engage with fellow leaders and congregation members, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in building a vibrant Christian community.
The Office of Rt. Hon. James Oche KSC looks forward to supporting the Diocese of Otukpo in its mission to inspire and empower Christians on their faith journeys, encouraging everyone to keep their eyes fixed on Jesus. 🙏✨
