𝐂𝐒𝐖𝐃𝐎 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

Children are being shaped into guardians of their own future as the Davao City Social Welfare Development Office (CSWDO) gathered more than a hundred young participants from three barangays for a capability-building program that empowers them to stand against abuse, resist harmful influences, and embrace responsible citizenship on May 26, 2026 at Barangay 76-A Bucana Gym.

A total of 113 children from Matina Pangi, Matina Crossing, and Barangay 76-A Bucana joined the session, covering topics such as the Anti-Mendicancy Law, Disaster Preparedness, Anti-Smoking and Liquor Ordinances.

Che Cejuela, Senior Social Worker of Barangay Bucana told the City Information Office that the topics were carefully chosen to strengthen their awareness of laws that safeguard their rights and protect them from abuse.

“Importante gyud na makahibalo sila ani kay para dili sila musundog kung unsa tung mga dili maayong binuhatan. Maong sa bata pa sila, dapat kahibalo sila kung unsa tung mga bawal ug dili bawal (It is very important that they learn about these things so they will not imitate behaviors that are not good. That is why, even while they are still young, they should already know what is prohibited and what is allowed),” she said.

The program, held quarterly, ensures that children under Child Needs Special Protection (CNSP) are equipped with knowledge of laws and policies designed to protect them from abuse and exploitation.

Cejuela further emphasized that the activity not only serves as a diversion from idle habits but, by being conducted quarterly, also ensures that children consistently recall the lessons and apply them in their daily lives.

“Kani nga mga activity para pod ni sa mga bata na dili sila makalimot, ma divert pod ang ilahang attention nga dili lang sige og cellphone, mag sige og laag, mag sige og latagaw (These activities are also meant for children so they will not forget the lessons, and at the same time, their attention is diverted from idle habits, instead of spending too much time on cellphones, roaming and wandering around),” she added. Human sa sunod sunod nga pag ulan nabanlas ang sanitary landfill area sa New Carmen, Tugbok nga miresulta sa 3 ka casualties, 1 ka missing person, ug 2 ka nasamdan, dali nga niresponde ang City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) aron masiguro ang kaluwasan ug kaayohan sa mga apektadong residente.

Sa kinatibuk-an, 186 ka pamilya ang luwas nga gipa-evacuate ug temporaryong gipapuyo sa mga kasikbit nga evacuation sites lakip ang Los Amigos Evacuation Center, Purok 4 Battalion Area, Barangay Gymnasium, ug Health Center.

Isip kabahin sa emergency response operations, naghatag ang CSWDO og Psychosocial First Aid (PFA), food ug non-food assistance, hot meals pinaagi sa Mobile Kitchen, ug modular tents alang sa temporaryong kapuy-an sa mga evacuees. Samtang naghatag usab og food packs, Psychosocial First Aid (PFA) ug Capability-Building activities sa mga indirectly affected families sa Purok 2 ug Matina Biao diin nanimuyo duol sa nahitabo ang landslide.

Pinaagi sa Ugnayan Section, gihatagan usab og Lingap Assistance, bereavement flower ug funeral goods, ang mga pamilya sa mga namatay aron makahatag og tabang sa panahon sa kasubo. Samtang ang mga apektadong residente nga gikan sa gawas sa Davao City naendorso na ngadto sa Pag-Abot Program ubos sa DSWD alang sa dugang nga suporta.

Dugang pa, gipahigayon usab ang usa ka blessing ug prayer offering karong adlawa alang sa mga biktima ug ilang mga pamilya, ug sa mga naapektuhan sa mass wasting incident sa sanitary landfill.

Sa kasamtangan, padayon ang CSWDO, uban sa Barangay Council sa Tugbok ug uban pang partner agencies, sa profiling ug house-to-house assessment aron masuta ang kahimtang sa mga apektadong pamilya ug mahatagan sila sa hustong serbisyo ug interbensyon.

Ang CSWDO nagpadayon sa pagpanawagan sa kooperasyon ug pag-amping sa tanang residente. (CSWDO-PIRCS)

30 KA INDIBIDUAL NASERBISYUHAN SA SIDLAKAN WOMEN CRISIS CENTER SA TUIG 2025

Miabot sa 30 ka mga indibidual o kleyenteng kababayen-an ug kabataan ang naserbisyuhan sa Sidlakan Women Crisis Center sa tuig 2025.

Sumala ni Rosabelle Diacamus, Center Head sa Sidlakan Women Crisis Center nga misyon sa pasilidad nga mahimong luwas sa pagpangabuso ang kababayen-an samtang tumong sa niini nga makatunol og dekalidad nga serbisyo ngadto sa mga kleyente.

Dugang pa ni Diacamus nga lakip sa mga serbisyong ginahanyag sa buhatan mao ang 24 oras nga operasyon sa Residential Care facility, Social Services, After Care Services, Home/Group Living Services, libreng pagkaon, sanina ug toiletries, education services, health and medical services, Psychosocial/Psychiatric Services, Livelihood Skills Development, Modular Session for Women, Legal o Para-legal Assistance, Alternative Family Care o Independent Living, Community Participation Skills Development ug Referral Services.

Ang maong inisyatiba sa Davao City Women Federation, gisuportahan sa Women Welfare Section sa CSWDO.

Atol sa gipahigayon nga outreach program mihatag og mensahe si Jerna Estomata, Davao City Women Federation- President, diin gipadayag sa iyang mensahe ang paghatag og bili, gugma, ug pag- amuma sa mga kababayin- an sulod sa Davao City Jail Female Dormitory. Dugang pa, bisan pa sa nahimong kasaypanan sa kinabuhi adunay komunidad nga andam maminaw, mosuporta, modawat, ug mohatag paglaum kanila.

Lakip pa usab sa nahisgutang programa mao ang pag-apod-apod og mga hygiene kits sa mga kababayin- an sa dormitory.

Sa tanang inahan, kabahin ka sa padayon nga tinubdan sa kusog ug inspirasyon sa matag pamilya sa komunidad. 💙💛

Malampusong gipahigayon sa City Social Welfare and Development Office pinaagi sa CoSuGiAN Home for the Aged ang Community Oriented Primary Care Project nga adunay tema nga: “Bridging the Gap: Strengthening Healthcare Linkages through Telemedicine at CoSuGiAN” nga gipasiugdahan ni SPMC Department-Family and Community Medicine, niadtong Mayo 22, 2026 sa Conference Room sa CoSuGiAN Home for the Aged.

Gitambongan kini sa kapin 25 ka staff sa maong pasilidad aron mapalig-on ang koordinasyon sa serbisyo panglawas ug mapalambo ang paghatag og healthcare services pinaagi sa telemedicine alang sa pagseguro sa maayong panlawas sa mga senior citizens samtang ginaserbisyuhan sila sulod sa pasilidad sa CoSuGian.

Kini nga mga lakang nagpakita kini sa padayon nga sensitibong pagpaningkamot sa CSWDO sa paghatod og episyente, paspas nga medical services, ug older person-centered nga serbisyo pinaagi sa pagpalig-on sa partnership ug linkages sa mga healthcare providing institutions (CSWDO-PIRCS)
