The Juvenile Justice and Welfare Council (JJWC) is a policy-making, coordinating and monitoring body tasked with the implementation of Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act as amended, through its member and coordinating agencies.

The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Bulan, through the Office of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development (MSWD), conducted a two-day Capacity-Building on Life Skills Intervention (LSI) for Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC) and Youth Leaders on October 21–22, 2026 at Sabang Pavilion, Bulan, Sorsogon.

The activity was attended by Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) members and Child Development Workers (CDWs), who participated in the sessions facilitated by the RJJWC V Secretariat and Ms. Rhoda Mendaros, Social Welfare Officer II of DSWD Field Office V, as resource persons.

The capacity-building aimed to strengthen the participants' knowledge and skills in implementing life skills interventions for children at risk (CAR) and children in conflict with the law (CICL), supporting their positive development, well-being, and successful reintegration into their communities.

The Local Government Unit of Caramoan, through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), spearheaded the Capacity Building on Barangay Protocol in Handling CAR and CICL Cases on October 7-8, 2026 at Partido State University, Caramoan, Camarines Sur.

The activity was actively participated in by Barangay Chairpersons and VAW Desk Officers from the 49 barangays of the said municipality.

This initiative aims to equip Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC) members with the right knowledge and tools for the proper management of Children at Risk (CAR) and Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL) cases, ensuring child-friendly, rights-based, and effective interventions across the municipality.

LOOK! The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Presentacion, through the initiative of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), conducted the Formulation of the Comprehensive Barangay Juvenile Intervention Program (CBJIP) and Capacity-Building for MCPC and BCPC Members on Handling Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL) and Children at Risk (CAR) Cases on October 6–8, 2026, at the BUB Facility, Presentacion, Camarines Sur.

The activity was attended by Barangay Chairpersons, VAW Desk Officers, and Barangay Secretaries representing all 18 barangays of Presentacion. Their participation highlighted the importance of strengthening barangay-level capacities in developing responsive juvenile intervention programs and handling CICL and CAR cases in accordance with the principles of the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act (JJWA).

Through this initiative, the LGU continues to promote a child-sensitive, rights-based, and restorative approach to juvenile justice, reinforcing the vital role of barangays in child protection, prevention of juvenile delinquency, and the rehabilitation and reintegration of children into their communities.
