President Herminie Attends SFF Cup Final and Presents Trophy to Bazar Brothers FC
President of the Republic Dr. Patrick Herminie attended the Seychelles Football Federation (SFF) Cup Final at Unity Stadium on Saturday evening, where he presented the Cup trophy to the winning team, Bazar Brother FC of Point Larue. The occasion marked the President’s first football engagement since accepting the role of Patron of the Seychelles Football Federation earlier this year.

The chance to win a plot of land, alongside a host of other prizes, was unveiled this evening as Seychelles officially launched the 50th Golden Jubilee Lottery, with Vice-President Mr Sebastien Pillay among those attending the ceremony marking the start of the nation's countdown to the 50th anniversary of Independence.
The launch formed part of the official opening of the National Day Celebrations 2026 under the theme "Nou Pep, Nou Lidantite, Nou Desten", bringing together ministers, senior government officials, sponsors and invited guests for an evening celebrating Seychelles' journey since Independence.
The event also featured the unveiling of the official National Day theme song, Selebre Seselwa, performed by the Mahe Chamber Choir and local artists. The song will serve as a musical centrepiece of the Golden Jubilee celebrations and is expected to accompany a range of commemorative activities and events throughout the year.

President Visits Key Development Sites on Coetivy Island
Yesterday, the President of the Republic, alongside the Minister for Transport, Ms Veronique Laporte, and the Minister for Tourism and Culture, Mrs Amanda Bernstein, undertook an official visit to Coetivy Island to tour important development sites and ongoing projects contributing to the island’s economic activities and future development.

President Dr Patrick Herminie chaired a scheduled meeting of the Cabinet on Wednesday 27th May, during which a number of legal and policy memoranda were approved.
Cabinet approved the findings and recommendations of the 2024 Progress Report on the implementation of the National Development Strategy (NDS) 2024 to 2028, endorsing measures to strengthen Results Based Management frameworks, improve inter agency coordination and data systems, modernise public services, and align the NDS with the government’s Manifesto and 100 Day Plan.
Cabinet also approved the establishment of the National Professional and Technical Education and Skills Development Council to guide skills development and align training with labour market needs. Cabinet was further briefed on the advancement of the nomination of Mission Ruins of Venn’s Town for inscription as Seychelles’ first UNESCO Cultural World Heritage Site, which has progressed to the international evaluation stage. In addition, Cabinet approved the introduction of a temporary Entertainment Licence Framework to support the cultural, tourism and entertainment sectors while regulating noise, safety and operational requirements.

President Herminie Commends the High Standard of Public Service Delivery During Official Tour of Praslin Government Offices
President Dr Patrick Herminie has commended the quality of public service delivery on Praslin following recent official visit to government offices housed within the Pension Fund Building, expressing particular satisfaction with the quality of facilities and the level of organisation observed across the various institutions.
During the visit, the President met with senior officials and staff from a number of government agencies and public bodies operating under one roof. The engagements provided the President with a first-hand assessment of service delivery; operational challenges and the welfare of citizens being served across the island.
