In today’s world, children are often taught what to learn but not how to think. Many can memorise procedures, yet freeze the moment a question appears in a different form. Real learning, however, begins in the mind — not in the textbook.

WeLL, together with our collaborators Neuromath Academy and HIA (who also sponsored the programme), believes deeply in this principle. The Neuromath approach focuses on developing the brain’s learning system, helping children process information, make connections, and reason with clarity. When children are trained to think first, understanding becomes natural — and confidence follows.

On Saturday, 18 April, students attended the first session of the six‑module programme. Norman and Vanessa, from Neuromath Academy, will provide oversight for these small‑group sessions, which are led by trained volunteers. Our goal is to gently guide children from dependence to independence, preparing them not only for future academic challenges but also for a lifetime of confident, thoughtful learning.

Today, WeLL Centre volunteers, including student volunteers from SP and partner HIA, embarked on a transformative journey to gain profound insights into the pioneering Thinking Gym programme, directly from the founder Dr. Norman Tien. This groundbreaking training programme empowers our volunteers with a thinking-based guidance approach, setting the stage for the forthcoming Happy Learner's Thinking Gym Programme, scheduled to launch on April 18, 2026. As part of WeLL Centre's mission to bridge gaps and foster inclusivity, this innovative Thinking Gym programme aims to equip our community's students with life-changing thinking-based training, unlocking their limitless potential.

Yesterday, we celebrated the grand re-opening of the WeLL Centre — and it was more than a ceremony. It felt like a family reunion, a reminder of how powerful a community can be when hearts and hands come together.
We were deeply moved to have Ms Joan Pereira, MP for Tanjong Pagar GRC, join us and share in this milestone.
For nearly 20 years, Henderson Heights was where we grew, learned, and built memories that will always stay close to our hearts. Leaving that chapter behind wasn’t easy, but as we open our doors at Bukit Merah View, we step forward with hope, gratitude, and a renewed commitment to serve.

Last Wednesday, we had a birthday celebration for our WeLL children after their year-end examinations are over.

With less stress, It was truly a joyous occasion as they interact with their friends with team building games and lucky draw.

Besides birthday presents for 10 children, attendance superheroes are also rewarded. After a sumptuous dinner & cupcakes, the children went home with fond memories and lots of stuffed toys, games sets and watches sponsored by kind donors. A memorable occasion indeed!

🌿 Happy Father’s Day with Mother Nature! 🌿

Today, our community celebrated Father’s Day connecting with Mother Nature through a vibrant morning at EtonHouse Garden School by the Bay! ☀️🌱

From a lively storytelling session of “Planting a Rainbow” to exciting hands-on nature-themed activities, our families explored the wonders of flora while learning to appreciate the beauty and diversity of the natural world.

But beyond the fun and games, this outing was a step towards nurturing a deeper sense of environmental responsibility especially in our young ones — a reminder that we all have a part to play in creating a greener Singapore. 💚

Another edition of our Mall@WeLL organised in conjunction with Habuan distribution on last Sat 15 Mar 2025.

Over 100 families at Henderson-Dawson rental flats attended the event. Variety of items include clothes, bedding accessories, toys and household appliances were available for selection.

Both young & old enjoyed ‘shopping’ experience - browsing & choosing items as well as fitting out the clothings.

A big thank you to our well-wishers for reaching out to the families.

Our appreciation also to all the wonderful volunteers, MAEC, Silat group, friends and Supermummies - who helped with the pre-distribution arrangements, display of merchandise and registration on the event day!
