From intern to BIM professional - where you start doesn’t define where you finish.

Last week, BCA Academy welcomed over 90 Higher Nitec students from ITE College East for a learning journey that we hope stays with them long after the visit.

Our guest speaker, Er. Jeffrey Ng, Director of DP Engineers, didn’t just talk about the Built Environment sector. He shared the journey of a team member who started exactly where many of these students are today (ITE). Through determination and continuous upskilling, she now works as a BIM Assistant at DP Engineers.

For students still mapping out their futures, hearing that story from a senior industry leader carries real weight. Er. Ng also spoke about mentoring BCA Academy interns at DP Engineers. It was a reminder that industry exposure isn’t a nice-to-have, it’s what bridges classroom learning to career readiness.

🌟 We are happy to be part of the Ziesta Education & Career Guidance Symposium organised by Zhenghua Secondary School on 25 March 🌟

The session sparked many students discovering new possibilities they hadn't considered before:

🗣️ “I used to have no interest in the engineering sector, but after the BCA talk, I learned how engineers use VR to design sustainable buildings. It’s amazing to see how BCA contributes to our environment and quality of life. I’m more interested in the behind-the-scenes work of engineers now!”

🗣️ “The BCA speaker showed me how important math is in pursuing engineering. I realised my current math skills are enough to consider engineering, and it gave me more confidence in this career path!”

🗣️ “I’ve always enjoyed math and problem-solving, and the BCA talk helped me understand what engineering really involves. It was great to see the different pathways I could take in the engineering world.”

Recently, we had a great time hosting a group of students from Chinese High School Batu Pahat, Malaysia.

As they explore studying opportunities in Singapore, we were excited to introduce them to the world of the built environment and how it shapes the spaces we live, learn, and play 🏙️✨

At BCA Academy, we stay closely aligned with industry developments and evolving policies, continually refreshing our curriculum to equip students with relevant, future-ready skills. It was great sharing how we prepare the next generation to thrive in a rapidly transforming sector 📚🚀

At the BCA Academy Staff Retreat 2026 last week, we came together to reflect, reconnect and reimagine how we can create greater impact together.

Guided by the theme “Empowered to Innovate with Purpose – Creating Impact that Matters,” the retreat gave us the opportunity to step back from our daily work, hear fresh perspectives on AI, education and leadership, and reflect on what drives us as individuals and teams.

From thoughtful discussions and team activities to creative idea-sharing, the day reminded us that purpose gives direction, innovation creates momentum, and meaningful impact happens when people come together with a shared commitment to make a difference.

A big thank you to Kingsmen Creatives Ltd for hosting us, our speakers Daryl Chew, Wong Kin Hoong, Simon Ong, Valerie Leong, as well as our colleagues for making the retreat a meaningful and energising one.

At BCA Academy, we make every learning experience count by connecting theory directly to real-world practice.

As part of the FMT309 – Building Diagnostics module in our part-time BSc Facilities Management (BFM) programme jointly offered by BCA Academy and Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), learners recently visited MAEK Consulting Pte Ltd.

During the visit, they gained valuable exposure to building materials, diagnostic tools, and cutting-edge technologies used in the industry.

These industry engagements are designed to deepen understanding and strengthen workplace relevance, enabling our learners to immediately apply what they learn.📚

We were delighted to host our Integrated Work-Study Diplomas (IWSD) Info Session today, welcoming close to 50 students and parents to our campus! 🙌🎓

Participants gained deeper insights into the Built Environment sector, learned more about our diplomas through programme briefings, and explored our campus through a guided tour. The session wrapped up with one-to-one conversations with our lecturers.
