Geez, what’s the trick to staying legal?
Apparently, I’m banned while lorry transport which has killed more than 114 migrant workers since 2000 is still legally permitted. Get real!
If I’m banned, then lorries should be banned too! Sign our petition to ban lorry transport for migrant workers.

Introducing “HOME RUNS!” 💥⚾️, our new series spotlighting the wins that migrant workers fight hard for, and the support that helps make justice possible.
In our first post, read about Sally’s salary dispute, the challenges she faced navigating the Employment Claims Tribunal (ECT) process, and how HOME supported her over 9 months towards a successful resolution.
HOME RUNS! celebrate important successes, but they also reveal the complex legal and bureaucratic hurdles migrant workers often have to face, many times without support. Thank you to our followers, who came through with a resounding response of this title on our IG stories 💗🙏

Wishing a peaceful and meaningful Vesak Day to all who celebrate, especially the migrant brothers and sisters celebrating this occasion far from home.
Observed by many migrant workers from South Asian, Southeast Asian, Tibetan and Mongolian communities, Vesak Day is a time for reflection, compassion and community, even across borders and distances from loved ones.

Singapore is building more, faster and bigger than ever. But behind our MRT lines, BTO flats, ports, airports and infrastructure projects are migrant workers whose labour makes this possible, yet many still face recruitment debt, unsafe transport, excessive overtime, barriers to changing jobs and fear of repatriation.
A recent Straits Times opinion piece by Tan Dawn Wei asks an urgent question: if Singapore depends so heavily on migrant workers, why do we accept conditions we would never tolerate for ourselves? 🤔
Read the ST article and HOME and TWC2’s UPR submission, which was referenced, to understand why stronger protections are urgently needed.

I’m sick of being fed excuses! How is feeding me any more dangerous than transporting people in the back of lorries? Which by the way, has killed more than 114 migrant workers since 2000, yet it is still legally permitted.
If I’m banned, then lorries should be too!

Something about this situation stinks (and it’s
not me) 👀
Lots of people love me! Yet I’m the one that’s
banned when lorry transport has killed more
than 114 migrant workers since 2000.
So, if I’m bad enough to get banned, then
lorries should be too!

What does it take to run a women’s shelter? 🏡
It takes over $530,000 a year to keep our Women’s Shelter running. A place where migrant women escaping abuse, exploitation and crisis can find safety, support and the space to begin rebuilding their lives 🔨👩🔧
We have an ecosystem of care supporting every case.
🤲 Institutional donors help sustain the shelter.
🍚Food rescue groups and community partners help keep our kitchen running.
🗣️Volunteers conduct wellness sessions.
👂Caseworkers and volunteer counsellors walk alongside residents through some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
But perhaps most importantly, the women in the shelter support one another 🤝
Residents take on leadership roles, organise activities, cook, share information, and help create a sense of community and dignity within the shelter itself. Healing is not just provided but rebuilt together.
This is what it takes to keep a shelter alive ❤️🔥
And this is why public support matters. If you would like to support HOME’s Women’s Shelter, please consider making a donation through the link in our bio 🔗

You’ll want to sit down for this.
Did you know that me sitting down is banned but transporting people in the back of a lorry isn’t?! Sure, I may sometimes get in the way, but more than 100 workers have been killed and more than 8000 have been injured travelling in the back of lorries since 2000! Yet, lorry transport for migrant workers is still legal.
Surely, if I’m banned, then lorries should be too! Sign our petition to ban lorry transport for migrant workers.
