𝐁𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐔, 𝐈𝐃𝐏𝐬 𝐂𝐀𝐌𝐏, 𝐎𝐂𝐓𝐎𝐁𝐄𝐑 𝟐𝟕,𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 - His Excellency the Caretaker Governor, Dr Joseph Manytuil, paid a visit to the Bentiu IDP Camp, where he assessed the local health centres and primary school facilities.
During the visit, Caretaker Governor Manytuil listened to concerns regarding the numerous challenges facing the IDPs, including food shortages resulting from WFP food cuts, and a lack of ambulances at facilities to facilitate referral services, among other pressing issues.
His Excellency Caretaker Governor Dr. Joseph Manytuil pledged to provide ambulance services and reaffirmed his administration's commitment to supporting the Camp Management Committee in accelerating the delivery of essential services within the camp.
His Excellency Caretaker Governor Manytuil conveyed a message of solidarity and the best wishes of His Excellency President Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit to the Bentiu IDP communities, adding that his administration is developing a necessary response plan, and with the support of President Kiir, the livelihoods of communities in Unity State remain a top priority.
Governor Manytuil also used the occasion to sensitise the community on the upcoming elections, calling on the Unity State community to vote for President Kiir, whom he described as a unifying figure for the people of South Sudan.
The Caretaker Governor's visit to the Bentiu IDP Camp comes following his appointment as the Caretaker Governor of Unity State, after the dissolution of the Unity State government in September 2026.
