The Singapore Embassy in Bangkok extends our warmest congratulations to Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana on the joyous occasion of Her Majesty's birthday.

The Singapore Embassy in Bangkok wishes all our Buddhist friends a Happy Visakha Bucha Day. Visakha Bucha, or Vesak Day, commemorates the birth, enlightenment and passing away of the Buddha. It is a time of peace and reflection.

Happy to welcome Thai Ambassador-designate to Singapore, Mrs. Waraphannee Damrongmanee, to the Embassy on 28 May 2026! We had a good discussion on the various areas of cooperation between Singapore and Thailand. We look forward to working closely with Khun Waraphannee to grow our bilateral relations from strength to strength!

Ambassador Catherine Wong made an introductory call on Minister of Energy His Excellency Akanat Promphan on 27 May 2026.

Reaffirming the close partnership between Singapore and Thailand on energy-related issues, both sides discussed ways to work together to meet our respective sustainable development goals and ensure energy security for both countries as well as the region. Ambassador Catherine and H.E. Akanat also discussed the impact of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and exchanged views on our respective approaches to the situation.

Both sides also affirmed that the Laos-Thailand-Malaysia-Singapore Power-Integration-Project (LTMS-PIP), which is currently in Phase 2, served as an integral pathfinder for an eventual ASEAN Power Grid.

We look forward to greater cooperation between Singapore and the Ministry of Energy of the Kingdom of Thailand!

Ambassador Catherine Wong had the pleasure of participating in a dialogue session with a delegation of Senior Principals from Singapore on 20 May 2026 at the Embassy. The delegation is on a week-long Leadership and Management Executive Programme to Thailand. Through their visit, they hope to gain a better understanding of the education sector here.

During the dialogue, Ambassador touched on the longstanding and robust ties between Singapore and Thailand. She also offered insights into the work that the Embassy does in Thailand.

We wish the delegation a fruitful and enriching stay in Bangkok!

Happy to catch up with Leader of the Opposition, Mr Natthaphong Ruengpanyawut, over lunch earlier this week! We had a good discussion on areas of cooperation between Singapore and Thailand, such as in the digital and green economies as well as upskilling and reskilling the workforce. We look forward to more of these exchanges!

The Singapore Embassy in Bangkok was delighted to host a reception for the alumni of Singapore’s educational institutions on 19 May 2026.

We were happy to see many familiar and new faces, which reminds us of how vibrant and ever-growing this community is. Our alumni commmunity comes from various educational institutions in Singapore, including former ASEAN Scholarship recipients and graduates from the National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore Management University (SMU), Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP), and the Goh Keng Swee Command and Staff College.

We hope that our alumni community enjoyed the evening of reconnecting with old friends and meeting new ones - and of course, the Singaporean food! We look forward to catching up with our alumni at the next gathering!

The Singapore Embassy was delighted to host a group of students and teachers from the National University of Singapore at the Embassy on 15 May 2026. The students were on a week-long study visit to Thailand to learn about science communication and the impact of climate change on the environment.

Deputy Chief of Mission Quek Shei Ting and colleagues at the Embassy enjoyed interacting with the students and sharing with them about the work we do at the Embassy, as well as Singapore – Thailand relations.

We hope that the delegation enjoyed their visit to the Embassy!

Winners of the 7th Steinway Youth Piano Competition (Singapore) — Edward Fang, Ziwen Zhao, and Newman Tong — will take the stage at Sala Sudasiri Sobha on 24 May 2026. More than a showcase of competition winners, this concert is a celebration of youthful artistry, passion, and the enduring influence of Hungarian musical culture on young pianists around the world.

Ambassador Catherine Wong had an introductory meeting with Deputy Minister of Education, His Excellency Akkaranan Kankittinan, on 7 May 2026.

They reaffirmed the strong education cooperation between Thailand and Singapore, and welcomed the frequent exchanges between both countries, including at the Ministry, school, and tertiary levels. They also exchanged views on the importance of upskilling and reskilling our respective workforces.

As Singapore has taken over the Chairmanship of the ASEAN Education Sector from Thailand this year, Ambassador Wong invited Thailand to attend the 14th ASEAN Education Ministers’ Meeting and related meetings in July 2026 in Singapore.

There is great potential for closer education cooperation between our two countries. The Embassy looks forward to continuing our close cooperation with the Ministry of Education of the Kingdom of Thailand to take our relations to even greater heights!
