Citizens and experts gathered in Tobago today, 15 October, for ๐๐๐ซ๐ข๐๐๐๐๐ง ๐๐ญ๐๐ญ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐๐ฌ ๐๐๐ฒ ๐๐๐๐ to discuss ๐ก๐จ๐ฐ ๐ฆ๐จ๐๐๐ซ๐ง ๐๐๐ญ๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐จ๐๐๐ข๐๐ข๐๐ฅ ๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ญ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐๐ฌ ๐๐๐ง ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ ๐ ๐ฌ๐ฆ๐๐ซ๐ญ๐๐ซ ๐๐จ๐๐๐ ๐จ.

Their experiences, she said, challenge us to consider whose stories may be missing from official statistics.

โA smarter Tobago is a Tobago that knows itself. A Tobago that sees itself clearly, measures its progress honestly, and transforms knowledge into better decisions, greater opportunities and improved lives for its people.โ
Day two continues tomorrow with practical discussions on modernising statistical systems, strengthening data governance and using data in decision-making.
Reliable statistics help us understand peopleโs needs, measure progress and plan for Tobagoโs future. UN Trinidad & Tobago Ministry of Planning, Economic Affairs and Development
