Finding Help Close to Home How Does It Work? Feed A Hungry Child PC transports packs of food to schools located in Pickens County, South Carolina. How Can I Help?

On the last day of the school week, the Packs are discreetly placed in the backpacks of students enrolled in the program by school staff. Donations to the Program are an important source of funding, along with program grants. Each Pack costs $6 — the cost of Adopting A Child Pack, for a 36-week school term, is only $216. ☀️244,989 meals served this summer!

We are grateful to every volunteer, donation, and the Pickens School District Nutrition Office who helped make sure children had access to meals whilst school was out.

Today we acknowledge Hunger Action Day as the national day to raise awareness and take action against hunger. Today and everyday, we recognize that food insecurity can affect people in every community.

This day holds a special meaning for Feed a Hungry Child Pickens County which has been committed to serving the need of hundreds of children across Pickens County schools since 2010.

As we recognize Hunger Action Day, we renew our commitment to fighting food insecurity and creating a community where every child has access to the food they need to thrive.
