WE DID IT Lakeland Hills! Our Wildcats finished their leadership lessons and have become SUPER HERO LEADERS! It’s nearly time to celebrate with our FUN RUN Event! 🏃🏾‍♂️

Congratulations again to Richstad's 5th GRADE CLASS for winning the Biggest Rise Challenge! They had the biggest jump in PLEDGES overnight and all got a TOTALLY RAD wristband making PARTY with the Apex Team! So much creativity, such beautiful wristbands!!

Our FINAL challenge is ON! The school goal is $1,100 Per Lap... If we get to that goal, Principal Johnson is going to get picked up by an ALIEN tomorrow during the Fun Run!!

Our FUNdraiser continues until Friday at midnight!

Please take a moment to read this special message from Ms. Darcy Suy, our wonderful Health Tech, who is taking on an exciting new role as our Yearbook Coordinator!

From Ms. Darcy:
Hello, Wildcat Families! 🐾❤️

My name is Darcy Suy, and I am so excited to introduce myself as not only the Health Tech at Lakeland Hills Elementary, but now your Yearbook Coordinator!

This is my 8th year at Lakeland Hills, and I feel incredibly lucky to be part of such a wonderful school community. I also have a 5th grader here, so Lakeland Hills holds an extra-special place in my heart, both professionally and personally!

One thing you should know about me is that I LOVE taking pictures! 📸❤️ I love capturing those little moments that we sometimes don’t realize will become our favorite memories. From school celebrations and field trips to silly smiles and sweet friendships, every moment tells a part of our Wildcat story!

And this year, I need YOUR help!

I want our yearbook to be filled with the wonderful, authentic moments that make Lakeland Hills so special. Throughout the school year, I encourage families to share photos from:

Last Night’s Challenge Winner:
👏 Congrats to COACH COLE & COACH BROWN’S 2nd & 3rd GRADE CLASS for winning the PLEDGE challenge! This class had the most students receive donations last night and won a… BINGO PARTY with the APEX TEAM!! Get excited!

This Weekend’s Challenge:
🥁 The PARTICIPATION Challenge! The class with the most PARTICIPATION on their Apex websites will win…drumroll…a GLOW PARTY 👽 with temporary tattoos! Which class will have the most amount of students LOGIN, SHARE, and receive DONATIONS for your awesome school?!

Fun Fact 🌟:
For every student reaching $10 per lap or level 5, Apex donates to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Let’s keep it up, Wildcats! 🧡

What a fantastic Apex lesson today about learning to cheer on others! Our students know leaders don’t try to be the only one shining, they raise the energy of the whole room and help encourage, inspire, and support the people around them!

Way to go Pomeroy’s KINDERGARTEN CLASS as our next challenge winners! Their class had the most students “SHARE” their Apex websites and got to WRAP the Apex team! WOAH! 😋

🌼🧡 Honoring Loved Ones, Celebrating Memories at Lakeland Hills! 🧡🌼

At Lakeland Hills Elementary, we believe that every family, every culture, and every story adds something special to our school community. 💜

This October, we are excited to share a beautiful tradition: Día de los Mu***os.

Día de los Mu***os is not a day of sadness or something to fear. It is a meaningful celebration of life, love, and remembrance. Families honor those who have passed away by creating ofrendas, special displays filled with photographs, flowers, and treasured memories. 🌼🕯️

As we continue to celebrate and learn about the many cultures that make our Wildcat community so special, we invite our families to help us create a Lakeland Hills Community Ofrenda!

💕 How can your family participate?

We invite students and families to share a photograph of a loved one who has passed away. This can be a family member, a friend, or even a beloved pet. Every photograph represents a life, a story, and a memory worth honoring.

📸 Submitting your photograph is easy!

🌸 Send a photograph with your student to give to their teacher. Teachers will collect them and pass them along to me.

🌸 Prefer to send it digitally? Email your photograph to [email protected] and I will gladly print it for you!

Please submit photographs by October 19.

Participation is completely optional, and families of all backgrounds and cultures are warmly welcomed to contribute.

Our hope is that this ofrenda becomes more than a beautiful display. We hope it creates an opportunity for our students to learn about traditions different from their own, celebrate the diversity within our school, and recognize something that connects us all: the love we carry for the people who have shaped our lives. ❤️

One of the things that makes Lakeland Hills Elementary so special is the wonderful mix of cultures, languages, and traditions that make up our Wildcat family! 🐾❤️

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, we invited some of our amazing Wildcats to share what they love most about their culture!

One of our kindergarten Wildcats brought Mrs. Potter some beautiful flowers today! 💐 What a sweet reminder that the little moments at school matter so much.

When students come to school each day, they have more opportunities to learn, connect, build friendships, and create those strong, lasting relationships with their teachers. ❤️
