During the 2025–26 school year, BISD students had access to an incredible range of hands-on learning opportunities through CTE programs, including 7 different courses at Woodward, 8 courses at Commodore Options School (EHHS & Odyssey), and 56 courses at Bainbridge High School.
As part of the celebration, students showcased their learning through projects, portfolios, demonstrations, certifications, photography, presentations, and other examples of their work.
A few of the outstanding honorees highlighted in these photos include:

A BIG check with an even BIGGER impact! 💙
Last night, Superintendent Amii Thompson joined three BISD students and representatives from the Bainbridge Schools Foundation to celebrate a $450,000 investment in our schools.
This support helps fund opportunities and resources that go beyond what state funding provides—from direct student supports and staff development to classroom resources, enrichment opportunities, and much more. The impact of BSF's partnership can be felt in every school and by students across our district.
We are incredibly grateful for BSF's partnership and the community that makes this support possible. Thank you for helping our students belong, engage, and thrive! 💙

Books, buddies, and building connections 💙📚
Every other Tuesday, Ordway first graders are joined by students from the Bainbridge High School Leadership class for Buddy Reading time together. This special partnership has become such a meaningful experience for both our youngest learners and our high school students, and we feel incredibly lucky to have schools close enough to make these connections possible.
The smiles, stories, and shared love of reading say it all! ✨

Bike to School Day on Friday was a success! 🚲 Hundreds of students biked safely to and from school, celebrating healthy habits, independence, and fun along the way. Highlights included snacks and prizes for riders — and at Sakai, an exciting “Ride and Glide” bike show where a bicyclist even jumped over Principal Drew Crandall! 🎉

🚲 Tomorrow is Bike to School Day! Please drive carefully, slow down near schools and neighborhoods, and keep an eye out for our youngest riders as they bike to school. Let’s help make it a safe and fun day for everyone! 💙

💙 Throughout April, students at Woodward Middle School participated in Woodward’s Values in Action Deep Dive: A Reflective Journey — a month-long SEL experience centered on the values of Connection, Integrity, and Compassion.
Students explored the experiences of refugees through classroom learning, guest speakers, an all-school read aloud, and a culminating assembly with acclaimed artist and illustrator Edel Rodriguez, who shared his story of immigrating from Cuba during the Mariel boatlift.
Students also participated in a schoolwide sock drive supporting Ukrainian refugees in the Seattle area, turning learning into meaningful action. 🧦🌎
Thank you to Woodward’s PTO for supporting this impactful experience for students! 💙

From classrooms to cafeterias, buses to front offices, playgrounds to counseling offices — it takes all of us working together to support students and help them thrive. Thank you for the care, commitment, and heart you bring to our schools every day. 💙
