We're getting excited for our upcoming Fun Run, and we need some amazing volunteers to help make the event a success!

If you have a few hours to spare on event day, we'd love your help with:

✅ Bib & shirt pickup
✅ Course support/Traffic monitoring

No experience needed—just a positive attitude and willingness to help! It's a fun way to support our community, meet new people, and be part of a great event.

We're thrilled to announce that Westside Pizza will be donating free pizza to our youth game gatherings!

Starting Thursday June 25th, 3-5pm.

Music, free pizza, snacks, and a wide variety of board games!

🎉 The BYS tutor spotlight: BHS sophomore Michaela! 🎉

A friend recommended tutoring at BYS to Michaela to earn her community service hours. Even though this is her first year tutoring, she already earned 24 hours that she needs for her NHS and scouts requirements. She also likes how BYS makes it easy to schedule her hours and that they track the total for her. She enjoys helping her friends with their math subjects and they all find the BYS space very an inviting and comfortable place to work. Thank you Michaela for volunteering as a BYS peer tutor!

🧶 Volunteers Needed! Help Youth Create Knitting or Crochet Items for Shelter Animals 🐾

Bainbridge Youth Services is looking for volunteers who crochet or knit and would be interested in teaching youth basic skills while helping create meaningful items for local animal shelters.

Together, youth will help make:
🐶 Dog sweaters
🧺 Blankets
🐱 Cat toys
❤️ Comfort items for shelter animals

Our hope is to have items ready by the fall to help provide warmth, comfort, and enrichment for shelter animals during colder weather.

We are looking for volunteers who may be available for about 2 hours at a time for about 4 weeks. We are happy to create a schedule that works for you.

This is a wonderful opportunity to support both youth wellbeing by developing purpose and animals in need through creativity, connection, and community service.

Items will be going to the Seattle Humane Society.

🎉 BYS Tutor Spotlight 🎉

Today we recognize BHS sophomore, Hallam!

Hallam first heard about the peer tutoring program freshman year, during a BYS presentation in health class. When he joined NHS in his sophomore year he decided to try tutoring to earn community service hours. This school year Hallam has helped several students with advanced math and science subjects. Tutoring has become a very meaningful way for him to help peers and make a difference in the community. Hallam has earned over 20 volunteer hours this school year so far.

Starting June 25th, join us every Thursday for a low-key place to hang out, eat snacks, and play some great board games.

Whether you’re competitive, just in it for the snacks, or just there to laugh with friends—you’ll fit right in.
