📢 Important Update: The U.S. Penny Has Been Discontinued

In June, the federal government officially discontinued the U.S. penny. While the transition will take time, the Jefferson County Treasurer’s Office is taking proactive steps to keep our residents informed and prepared.

Here’s what this means for you:

• Cash transactions will shift to rounding to the nearest five cents
• Digital payments remain exact to the penny
• Local businesses will receive toolkits and guidance
• Financial literacy programs will help families understand the changes
• Our office will share clear and consistent updates throughout the transition

Change doesn’t have to be confusing — we’re here to make it smooth, simple, and transparent for our entire community.

As September comes to a close, I’m proud to say that Jefferson County’s first-ever Financial Literacy Month has been a success.

Thanks to our incredible partners in banking and our local libraries, we were able to reach residents across the county with resources on budgeting, saving, investing, and scam prevention. The turnout and enthusiasm from our community show how important financial wellness is to so many families.

This is just the beginning. We’re committed to building on this momentum to make Jefferson County a leader in financial education for years to come.

🎉🐉💛🖤 What a day to be a Dragon!

From the spirit-filled parade to the roaring stands, the Wenonah family showed UP and showed OUT for Homecoming 2025! Our Dragons lit up the field and brought home the victory over John Carroll High School in true Wenonah fashion. 💪🏾🏈🔥

The pride, the energy, and the tradition were unmatched — Wenonah pride runs deep, and this win proves it’s always Great to be a Dragon! 🐉💛🖤

I had the honor of attending the Women in Public Finance 29th Annual Conference!

With more than 1,000 members nationwide and 25 regional chapters, this conference was a powerful opportunity to connect, learn, and explore timely topics in public finance. From the Welcome Reception to the Founders’ Awards Reception and post-conference networking, it was an inspiring few days of collaboration and community.

I am especially proud to share that I was recognized as the #1 most active member of the community at this year’s conference a true honor that reflects my commitment to serving Jefferson County and engaging with my peers in public finance.
