📣 Massachusetts Heating Assistance Information

Project New Hope has been receiving calls about heating assistance. We’re sharing information about a new Massachusetts benefit for certain households that heat their homes with #2 home heating oil.

Eligible households may qualify for an estimated one-time benefit of up to $680. Household income must be more than 60% but less than 100% of the State Median Income. Applications are expected to open in December 2026. Assistance is expected to be available through April 30, 2027, or until funding runs out.

The state has an interest form for people who would like to be notified when the application becomes available. The interest form is not an application and does not guarantee assistance.

For eligibility details, the income chart, the interest form, and updates, visit Mass.gov/HeatingHelp.

If your household may qualify for the existing Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP), applications for that separate program are open now. Visit Mass.gov/HeatingHelp to find the appropriate program and local agency.

Project New Hope is sharing this information. Please contact the state or the local agency listed on Mass.gov with questions about eligibility and applications.

Join us for "Boundaries and Self-Care for Women Veterans with Adrianne Sturtevant"

December 7th at 6:00pm via Zoom.

This interactive online class gives female veterans a welcoming space to explore what healthy boundaries really look like—and will offer strategies to make everyday life feel lighter, calmer, and more in your control. We’ll talk about why saying no isn’t about shutting people out, but about saying yes to your own wellbeing. We'll focus on identifying your values to strengthen your “yes” and learn new ways to care for yourself on a daily basis. Together, we’ll look at how military culture, caregiving roles, and life after service can make boundaries tricky, and how self care can become a steady, enjoyable part of your routine rather than something that gets squeezed in “if there’s time.”

During our time together we'll practice simple, practical techniques that make holding boundaries feel natural instead of stressful. Expect to practice activities, have guided discussions, talk about real life examples, and have a few laughs as we practice confident communication, learn mindfulness techniques, and explore self care strategies that actually fit your life. You’ll leave with tools you can use immediately—and a sense of connection with other women who get it.
