Congratulations to Ms. Tamega Carr, recipient of CARTA’s May Ambassador Award!
At this month’s board meeting, we were honored to recognize Tamega for her compassion, professionalism, and dedication to serving our riders.
Recently, one of our buses experienced a wheelchair lift malfunction while a CARTA Care-A-Van passenger was boarding. Tamega immediately stepped in and manually operated the lift to ensure the rider could safely board the vehicle and return home safely later that day.
Afterward, rider Mr. Steve Sberna contacted Customer Service, not to complain, but to recognize the exceptional care Tamega showed during the experience.
“She made my day and helped me to feel special.”
Mr. Sberna shared that it wasn’t just what Tamega did, but how she made him feel: respected, cared for, and never like an inconvenience.
Tamega has proudly served the CARTA family since 2016, consistently demonstrating kindness, leadership, and excellence in customer service. Her commitment to our riders and community truly embodies what it means to be a CARTA Ambassador.
Thank you, Tamega, for making a difference every day!

For Jordan, the Incline Railway is more than a historic attraction — it’s a lifeline.
Jordan uses the Incline to travel down Lookout Mountain and connect to Care-A-Van and the rest of Chattanooga’s public transportation network. It’s how he gets to appointments, services, opportunities, and the community beyond the mountain.
Public transit is not just about moving people. It’s about independence, accessibility and connection.
As conversations continue about the future of the Incline Railway, stories like Jordan’s remind us that this system serves real people with real transportation needs. Decisions about transit infrastructure impact residents who rely on these connections every single day.
The Incline is not just part of Chattanooga’s history — for many, it is still part of everyday life.

We had a blast at the Creative Discovery Museum's Second Annual “Day of Play” block party!
We brought the e-JEST to spark curiosity, create fun experiences, and help families engage with public transit in a hands-on way and the kids absolutely loved it!
The street was transformed into an interactive play space filled with creative activities, family-friendly programming, and opportunities to celebrate the joy of play.
We’re proud to partner in community events that connect residents with transit in exciting and memorable ways.
