Yesterday evening, Alderman Byron Sigcho-Lopez and the 25th Ward Office attended the Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability (CCPSA) public meeting held at Benito Juarez Community Academy.
A sincere thank-you goes out to all the 25th Ward residents and community members who showed up to voice their concerns, share insights, and take an active part in shaping neighborhood safety. Meaningful oversight and lasting change depend on our community staying organized and involved.

Our team recently drove across the 25th Ward to clear out fallen leaves, trash, and debris. Keeping storm drains and gutters clear is crucial to prevent street flooding and water backups during heavy rain. You can also help keep our neighborhood safe by sweeping debris away from nearby catch basins!

The Bus Vision Project is now in its public engagement phase and we want to hear from you! As our communities change, how we need to get around changes too. We want to hear directly from you about how bus service can better meet your needs.

In considering what changes to make, CTA wants to ensure that any new vision for the bus system reflects the public’s goals and values. What you tell us will help shape bus service design, standards, and future investments that will be developed in coordination with the Northern Illinois Transit Authority (NITA).

The proposed FAIR SHARE budget for 2027 balances the $882M gap, does NOT include layoffs or cuts to city services, and asks corporations to give a little more through a new tax to help fund public schools and property tax relief. Please see a summary of the proposal as City Council goes through its budget review process. To listen in to the hearings check the daily calendar for meetings at the City Clerks’ website.
