Cabarrus Big Brothers Big Sisters

We would like to share a special THANK YOU to everyone who came out to support the 2026 Pull for Kids Charity Tournament benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Carolinas, Cabarrus County. 💚

Because of the incredible support from attendees, volunteers, sponsors, community partners, and Vulcan Materials Company, nearly $85,000 was raised to help create life-changing mentorship opportunities for local youth.

We had such a great time celebrating our High School Bigs at our annual Recognition Night! 🎉

These students give their time each week to show up for their Littles, build meaningful friendships, and make a difference in their lives. We are so thankful for their commitment, leadership, and dedication throughout the school year.

We also want to give a special shoutout to this year’s High School Big Brother and Big Sister of the Year! 💚

10 years ago, Gabby was an 8 year old Little Sister. Now, she’s graduating and heading to Appalachian State to study forensic science. 🎓

Through every stage of her life, Gabby's Big Sister, Sarah, has been there. From elementary school to middle school, through the ups and downs of high school, and now cheering her on as she takes this next step into college. They have grown together in so many ways and we are so grateful for dedicated mentors like Sarah!

We’re so proud to celebrate the graduation of our 3rd cohort of Beyond School Walls with Atrium Health! 🎓

Our 8th graders officially wrapped up middle school alongside their Bigs and are now heading off to high school. Over the past three years, these matches have built meaningful relationships that helped prepare Littles for their educational, emotional, and financial futures.

Thank you to our incredible Bigs for showing up, encouraging, listening, and investing in the next generation. And thank you to Atrium Health for making this program possible. We can’t wait to see all that these students accomplish in high school and beyond! 💚

We wrapped up the school year with our Site Based EOY parties at Coltrane-Webb and Forest Park Elementary! 🌭🏈⚽️ Bigs and Littles celebrated our sports theme with hot dogs and games.

We also wrapped up High School Bigs with a luau celebration full of games, ice cream, and popsicles! 🌺🍦☀️

We are so grateful for our partnership with Northwest! We are sad to say goodbye to our 8th graders, but know they will thrive in high school - Congratulations! 🥳 💚

NCMS has partnered with Cabarrus Big Brothers and Big Sisters for the past 9 years with a program called Beyond School Walls. Every 3 years a cohort of 6th graders are selected to partner up with a mentor at Atrium Health. They travel to Atrium Northeast twice a month to meet with their mentor and participate in a mini lesson. (Thank you to everyone who sponsors and supports Big Brothers & Big Sisters to allow this to happen.)

College week at High School Bigs!

Bigs and Littles discussed what they might want to be when they grow up and explored colleges they may want to attend one day. They also learned about important terms they’ll hear along the way, like GPA and FAFSA.

Starting these conversations early helps students begin to see what’s possible for their BIG futures! 💚🎓
