Denver is envisioning future greenways! The goal? To turn everyday travel into a park-like travel experience.

What is a greenway?

Greenways are more than a simple path — they blend nature, movement and community. They are designed with three pillars in mind:

✅ Green infrastructure: Stormwater management enables reduced temperatures and cleaner air and water.

✅ Mobility: Dedicated trailways provide a high-comfort travel experience.

✅ Streetscape elements: Help make streets places to enjoy.

DOTI will be paving Monaco Pkwy from Yale Ave to Hampden Ave over the next few weeks. The team will bring in the mill first to remove the top layer of asphalt, working in segments along the corridor. When complete, the paving team will come in and lay down a fresh surface. While on site, the teams will maintain one travel lane in each direction. The travel lanes will reopen outside of work hours. The work is weather permitting, and repaving of this stretch is anticipated to take 3 to 5 weeks total.
