We had such a great time getting outside together to clean up Cherry Creek and the surrounding trail—nothing better than fresh air, good company, and making a real impact in our community. Denver Parks and Recreation will weigh the trash we collected (we don’t have the total yet), but we think we’ll size up pretty well as we pulled out four scooters from the creek! Don’t worry—getting in the water isn’t required unless you want to; there’s plenty to do along the trail. For those who have water boots or waders, feel free to bring them—trash has no boundaries, and we’re working to keep the creek and trail as pristine as possible.
We’d love to have you join us next time for a citywide trail cleanup in celebration of National Trails Day on Saturday, June 6th. This is an ideal monthly volunteer event for the whole family, and we’ll plan to meet for lunch nearby afterward. We’ll share the meetup spot and more details soon!

Rotary Club of Denver started Denver Boys 80 years ago in 1946. Denver Girls was started later and then they merged to become Denver Kids.
The club has continuously supported the organization for the last 80 years. Currently, over 1000 Denver Public School students participate in the program each year.
The keynote speaker is a graduate of Denver Kids and talked about how impactful it was in helping him go on to higher education, including his current enrollment in a Ph.D. program. He also said how important his participation in RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) was in helping him become a leader.
Many Rotarians from the Denver club were at the 80th anniversary gala tonight, along with District Governor Cindy Rold, Past District Governors Tamie Fennell and Bob Kemp, and District Governor Elect Cindy Chase.
