The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office Cadet Post 1875 is looking for youth interested in joining the Law Enforcement Cadet program.

The purpose of Law Enforcement Exploring is to provide young adults who may be interested in a career in law enforcement with a comprehensive program of training, competition, service and practical experiences. Character development, physical fitness, good citizenship
and patriotism are integral components of the overall program. Through their involvement in the program, Explorers develop an awareness of the purpose, mission and objectives of law enforcement agencies. The support of the chief executive officer of the agency, along with a dedicated cadre of law enforcement professionals and adult volunteers who provide adult leadership, is essential to the success of
any Post.

Why don't you go play in traffic? OK!

Last Saturday the PCSO Cadets conducted joint training with the Apache Junction Police Cadets here in Florence. The cadets learned about the importance of traffic control. At the end of the classroom portion came the practical application.

Nerves were tested as all the cadets were given a shot a directing live traffic. Although nervous at first, all stated it was fun and a little weird to be standing in a spot they weren't normally supposed to stand in.

We look forward to doing more training with AJ Cadets.

Some of the cadets at the PCSO Cadet Post 1875 have just completed a monumental, and first of its kind, experience that they should be proud of.

Six months ago, these cadets signed up to take part in a weapons safety class as part of their training by the cadet post. In that time the cadets were given instruction, took several quiz's, gave up some Saturdays, and completed a final and practical exam.

On a windy Saturday October 17th, under the guidance from the Pinal County Sheriff's Office fi****ms instructors, these cadets took place in a live fire exercise. The cadets were able to fire live pistols under one on one supervision. As you can see, they didn't disappoint.

Special thanks to all Deputy Forney, Detention Officer Delahanty, and all the fi****ms instructors that participated.

On September 18th Cadet Post 1875 participated in the Florence High School's First Responder and Military Appreciation night. The Cadets interacted with the public and were able to go onto the field when the football team came out.

On Saturday the 26th the Post also conducted a brass recycling event. The cadets sorted and cleaned over 2,400 lbs of brass casings as part of it's shared recycling program. They separated the rocks, steel casings, and even live rounds from the lot before going to recycle.

It wasn't all work and no play. They also were introduced to one of the the SWAT Team's armored vehicles, the MATV.

Last week was a great time for our cadets. They toured the dispatch office and learned about all the exciting things that PCSO Dispatchers encounter every day.

While in the office they get to hear live radio traffic from different agencies. They learned the process on how calls to 911 become calls for service to Law Enforcement Officers. Next up is testing on codes. (Fingers crossed)

We also found out who pasted the Sergeants Test. Congratulations to Cadet Camden Anderson, he is the newest Cadet to make Sergeant in the post. The testing was close, but edged out his competitor by only 3 points. Good job to all that tested.

Another Proud day for our Post. The Pinal County Sheriff's Office cadet post 1875 is proud to announce we have another cadet join our ranks.

Detention Officer Cody Daer is one of three Officers that graduated from the Maricopa County Detention Officer's Academy last week. It's nice to see these young people learn, grow, and then see them achievement of their goals.

Great Job Cody! Best of luck to you.

Last week some of our cadets participated in the 2nd annual Pinal County Sheriff's Office's CSI camp. Participants learned a variety of aspects relating to crime scene investigations to include trajectories, finger prints, and Forensic Entomology.

The post operates off donations and money raised through fund raisers. The cadets have done an excellent job raising funds through various events such as recycling programs, raffles, as well as coin and patch sales. They earned enough extra money to enjoy some of the fruits of their labors.
Post 1875 organized an event at Freedom Ai***ft in Tucson this Saturday. Cadets played for about four hours in the Arizona sun. It was a fun time had by all.

Our 5 cadets finished out the week and graduated from ALLECA. I'm real proud of this kids. They finished out strong and now have stories to tell.
Special thank you to Pinal County Sheriff's Office Sheriff Ross Teeple for putting aside some time and attending the ceremony.
The cadets were treated to lunch afterword's. I promised them it wouldn't be chow hall food.

The Post currently has 5 cadets up in Prescott attending the ALLECA training academy. (American Legion Law Enforcement Career Academy) It is a week long leadership course designed to to prepare young men and women for a career in law enforcement and the military. It's not always easy , but it is fun.

Cadets have hands on experience and training in various topics encountered in both career fields. Topics like DUI's, K-9, SWAT, Aviation and more.
