SB911, Classifying 911 Dispatchers as First Responders is one of the bills I sponsored this legislative session that was passed into law.

This legislation recognizes that 911 dispatchers are first responders and gives them access to the mental health supports and other benefits they need.

SB1328, requiring AEDs on utility worksites, is one of the bills I sponsored this legislative session that was passed into law.

This legislation will help keep our utility workers safe on the job as they keep our lights on for all of us.

It was a pleasure to attend the grand opening of Riverstone Books' new location at 65 Blazier Drive in McCandless. I am so happy that their new store is still in Senate District 38! In an era dominated by online retail giants and big-box chains, small shops like Riverstone Books provide a community experience that corporate e-commerce can never replace. I look forward to supporting this wonderful local business for years to come!

Congratulations to the Allegheny County Library Association for receiving a $10,000 Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant!

LSTA grants are meant to help libraries design and deliver services that respond to community priorities, build strong local partnerships, and expand access. ACLA will use their grant for their Books, Belonging and New Beginnings program, which provides literacy bags to immigrant and refugee children. These bags provide a warm welcome to the library and the world of books, offering children and their families resources that support English language development while also fostering comfort, curiosity, and a sense of belonging.

Is your closet cluttered with shoes you no longer wear? SHOE the love and put them to good use! My Natrona Heights office is collecting new and gently worn shoes to benefit the Community Library of Allegheny Valley through November 12, 2026.

How does it work? The library receives a donation based on the total weight of shoes collected. The shoes are then distributed to microenterprise partners in developing countries, where they are resold locally to help create sustainable income and employment opportunities.

Drop off your donations at:

Office of Senator Lindsey Williams
1826 Union Avenue
Natrona Heights, PA 15065

Every pair makes a difference! You’ll help keep shoes out of landfills while supporting your local library. Thanks in advance for stepping up for your community!

Happy National First Responders Day to all, but ESPECIALLY to our 911 telecommunicators, who are finally classified as first responders under Pennsylvania law!

I am so excited that this legislation has finally passed, and that our 911 operators are eligible for the care they need to keep themselves, and the entire community, safe and healthy.

It was a thrill to join Rep. Lindsay Powell, Congressman Chris Deluzio and the entire Etna community as we celebrated the grand opening of the new Etna Center for Community. We were able to secure $2 million in state funding and $3 million in federal funding to help bring this project to fruition. It was great to see so many families show up to inaugurate their new public library!

Thank you to Borough of Etna and the Etna Community Organization whose vision and hard work over the past decade made this project possible. Your planning made it all happen!
