We had the pleasure yesterday of U.S. Congressman Roger Williams stopping into the fire station.
We were able to discuss current issues facing the fire service and needs that existed. Congressman Williams was very helpful in giving us information to pursue grant funding for some projects. Such as upgrading the training field that all Hood county departments utilize.

🚨 SWIFTWATER RESCUE TEAM DEPLOYMENT UPDATE 🚨

The Indian Harbor Volunteer Fire Department and the Granbury Volunteer Fire Department is proud to announce that 4 members of our Swiftwater Rescue Team are deploying to Kerr County to assist with ongoing operations.

While these three members answer the call to assist our fellow Texans, our remaining five Swiftwater Rescue Team members will remain here in Hood County, ready to respond and working in conjunction with our neighboring fire departments and emergency response agencies to ensure our community continues to have the protection and resources it needs.

This is what the fire service is all about — neighbors helping neighbors, departments supporting departments, and answering the call wherever help is needed.

We are incredibly proud of all eight members of our Swiftwater Rescue Team for their dedication, extensive training, and willingness to serve both our local community and communities across Texas.
Please keep our deploying members, their families, and all first responders operating in Kerr County in your thoughts and prayers.

One Team. One Mission. Answering the Call.

Wow ! What a great community we have the pleasure of serving!
We had the unfortunate incident where we lost a chainsaw yesterday. We posted up hoping that it would be returned .

Today, less than 24 hours later we were blessed with a donated Stihl chainsaw and a brand new Husqvarna chainsaw donated by generous citizens . We didn’t get your names … but a huge thank you from all the firefighters at GVFD!
