Part of being an involved Commissioner is supporting our vibrant nonprofit sector - congratulations to | West Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce on their rebrand and a successful annual event. And, their new headquarters will be opening soon! As a minority business owner myself, this type of progress and movement in our City excites and inspires me!

One week ago, the Acrisure Amphitheatre officially opened to the public with an incredible display of support from residents and visitors alike. This is an investment that positively impacts our businesses and tourism sector. Plus, look at the incredible people I was able to celebrate this huge milestone with! πΆπ€πΈβ¨

π« If you know me or have worked with me, you know community building and trust-based relationships are my foundation. I am so excited to start to share with you several endorsements I've received from individuals, community leaders, neighbors, and more. I have made an intentional decision to NOT seek organizational or PAC endorsements this cycle. My community and my work speaks for itself.

When I see a neighborhood association just doing the thing, I can't help but share. Second Ward has some iconic NAs and I think they can be such an underutilized resource. The Creston Neighborhood Association Farmers Market is one of the best annual traditions in Grand Rapids and you can't change my mind. Come see for yourself starting in June. π₯π»π₯

I'm always shocked by how many people say they want to see more transparency in their local government, particularly in regards to spending and budget, yet don't take any time to reach out to their local representatives (like me!)
ππ½ Did you know I have bi-weekly office hours that anyone can sign up for so we can chat in depth about any questions or concerns you might have? https://www.friendsoflisaknight.com/events/
ππ½ Did you know you can review all City Commission meeting agendas and notes online? https://www.grandrapidsmi.gov/government/city-commission/

Hi. ππ½ I've had some new activity on my social media and website lately so I thought I'd take the opportunity to reintroduce myself if you're new here.
My name is Lisa Knight, and I have the distinct responsibility and pleasure of serving as a Grand Rapids City Commissioner, representing the Second Ward.
β‘οΈ I was born and raised right here in Grand Rapids.
β‘οΈ I'm a mother to 11 wonderful children.
β‘οΈ I'm a business owner.
β‘οΈ I am currently the Executive Director of Girls Choral Academy.
β‘οΈ I speak truth to power.
β‘οΈ I'm not in local government to benefit anyone besides my community and the people I serve.
β‘οΈ You will NEVER see me accepting donations or endorsements from special interest groups that are only interested in $$ and partisan issues.
