In this economy, feeding your family can often be a challenge. That’s why I’m starting a new series highlighting local Hartford businesses with great food deals to help make feeding your family a little more affordable!

First up: Los Dos Carnales Food Truck who offers $2 tacos every Wednesday! They’re located at 439 Capitol Ave, Hartford.

Do you have any recommendations for me to feature in future videos? Comment them below!

We hope you can join us on October 30th from 5-7 pm for our City Hall-o-ween event! In case you can’t make it, we wanted to share a bunch of other Trunk-or-Treat and Halloween events happening throughout the city.

We’re still looking for vendors and volunteers for City Hall-o-ween. If you’re interested in getting involved, register at www.bit.ly/ulghtrunkortreat2026.

Thank you to Urban League of Greater Hartford for partnering with us to make this event possible!

Spent some time reading with students at Moylan School!

It was great to see the Horizons at Westminster after-school tutoring program in action! These students show up every week ready to put in the work, learn, and grow.

Thank you to the dedicated Horizons staff for the work they do to support our city’s kids and help them build a strong foundation for the future.

Last week I traveled to Austin, TX with other Mayors from United States Conference of Mayors to share ideas around housing, learn about what Austin is doing to address housing needs, and to use our collective voices to call on the Federal Government to make a big and bold investment in helping our cities fix the housing affordability crisis.

Come check out the ofrenda installation, create traditional incense cones, decorate sugar skull masks, enjoy ballet folklórico and live mariachi music, and more.

We kicked off Love Hartford Month at Keney Park! 🌳

What started out as a week-long effort to clean up our city, has now expanded into a full month of community service and giving back.

There are plenty of opportunities to volunteer throughout the month of October and all across the city! Visit knoxhartford.org to learn more.

Thank you to KNOX, the Greater Hartford Gives Foundation, and all the partners who helped make this month long initiative possible.

Last Friday, the Slipaway water taxi traveled between Hartford and Wethersfield, helping connect our municipalities along the river.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made it such a fun experience, especially Mayor Lesser who rode on the inaugural trip. We hope you had a great time!

And a big thank you to all of the partners who helped make this possible.
