West Central's Educators Rising visited Augustana University this week!

Students learned about the Circle of Courage Model, an innovative framework for youth empowerment rooted in contemporary research, early youth work pioneers and Native American philosophies. The four concepts of the Circle of Courage include:
Belonging-Cultivating connections with caring adults.
Mastery-Fostering social, intellectual, and academic competence.
Independence-Encouraging autonomy and personal empowerment.
Generosity-Creating a supportive and cooperative learning environment.
Students attended four breakout sessions led by Augie's education professors and current education majors. A favorite part of the day for many students was attending a panel discussion, where students heard from current Augie education majors, and a campus tour.
