Activity Highlight:
Over the past few days, our members have been supporting by providing additional manpower at multiple different stations on a regular basis across the county, and working with our partner agencies to help serve the citizens of Duval County.

Member activity highlight:
While JEMA personnel were doing their training at Hugenot Memorial Park this past Sunday , Pres E Howard (not pictured) and newest member FR R Bush assisted a naturalist and at Huguenot Memorial Park with freeing a pelican tangled in fishing line with a barbed hook in its beak and wing, once the pelican was freed the Audubon society brought it to their bird sanctuary to recover.

We have had a busy week, we’ve had multiple members work the games, we’ve had a few members work the jazz festival, and to end the week we had a training with a good turnout of future First Responders . The training focused on patient assessment, scene safety scenarios and taking basic vitals.

This Sunday some of our JEMA members were present at the Mass baptism at Hannah Park today with with other partner agencies to ensure that the organizations present had a safe and holy Sunday at Hanna Park Beach.

All weekend, we have had a good turnout of members serving alongside and to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience to the citizens of duval county at each of the events. The events that JEMA worked this weekend were , Journey concert, and baptisms on Sunday.

Some of JEMA’s command staff members had the opportunity to participate in the Mandarin High School community today by evaluating Medical Academy students’ Senior Capstone projects, while also helping recruit the next generation of JEMA members.
