Kechi: Creative. Connected. Pleasantly Unexpected. This is a rapidly-growing community of more than 2000 residents, located to the north of Wichita, Kansas.

Access into Kechi can be from Highways 254 and 135, both of which are 4-lane expressways. Kechi residents enjoy the quiet and safety of a small city while being only minutes away from metropolitan services, shopping and entertainment. Both new residents and businesses are welcomed. There are several new housing additions and commercially zoned areas for economic development. If you are looking to relocate your family or business, consider the benefits of becoming part of this great community. If you are already a Kechi resident, your active involvement is encouraged and needed. Opportunities include serving as an elected official or member of one of the boards/groups that meet on a regular basis. An example of a shorter-term commitment would be to assist with the annual Kechi Fair. Resident input/involvement is welcomed and appreciated! City council meetings (2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month), we encourage residents to come and meet their city council members.

City Hall has received several inquiries about the Kechi Township question on the November ballot.
Kechi Township and the City of Kechi are separate units of local government, each with its own governing body and budget. The ballot question is a Kechi Township matter and is not a City of Kechi proposal.
Questions about the township ballot question should be directed to Kechi Township officials. 316-744-2711

The Friends of Kechi Park is asking for help from volunteers as we come together to build Kechi's new community playground.

No construction experience is necessary. Volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks including construction, organizing materials, volunteer check-in, hospitality, food service, cleanup, and more. Experienced crew leaders will be on site throughout the build to provide guidance and support.

📅 Build Week: November 10-15

Whether you can volunteer for a single 4-hour shift, a full day, or multiple days throughout the week, your time and effort will help create a lasting space for Kechi families and children to enjoy for years to come.
