Another successful Neighborhood Youth Council chapter meeting at Bryan Station High School!

These incredible students came together to brainstorm ideas for their very first initiative, and we are excited about the vision they are developing!

We look forward to helping them turn their ideas into action, creating something meaningful that will positively impact their peers, school, and surrounding community.

Youth voices matter and these young leaders will make a difference!

We excited to announce that Partners for Youth Foundation, Inc. has launched a holiday initiative program for Lexington’s teens. The Be an Elf – Gift A Teen Initiative was created by Partners for Youth with the support of City Council members to fill in the gap for youth ineligible for most existing holiday gift programs. Elves help Santa make Christmas for children a joyous and magical experience. The magic doesn’t stop once a child turns 13 years of age. Be an Elf asks families, individuals, and organizations of Lexington and beyond to help make the holiday wishes of teens 13-18 come true. These youth are a part of families who are experiencing financial difficulties and are full-time students within the Fayette County School system.

As an Elf, you or your organization will be matched with an eligible teen. We will send your match’s Wishlist for fulfillment. To make sure you as Elves can assist without economic strain, we have given parents and referral agencies guidance and limitations for their wish list items.

Today we had our first Bryan Station Neighborhood Youth Council Chapter meeting of October!
During our first meeting, students explored the purpose of NYC and its four pillars: Create, Advocate, Service, and Educate. We discussed our ambassador and officer roles as we prepare for voting. And we encouraged students to begin thinking about ways they can make a positive impact within their school and surrounding communities.
We want to give a special thank you to Mrs. Ashford and Mrs. Baker at Bryan Station High School for their collaboration and support in making this possible!

We're excited to see these students use their voices to make a difference!

Students explored the four pillars of NYC: Create, Advocate, Service, and Educate, while identifying issues and opportunities they would like to address within their school and community.

We also discussed leadership roles within the chapter, including Ambassadors, Secretary, and Treasurer for our student-led council

Youth voices matter, and we’re excited to see these students turn their ideas into action!

Thank you to Mrs. Beatty-Adams and Ms. Frost!
