Making a splash: LAUSD offers free swim lessons With summer heat in full swing, the Los Angeles Unified School District is offering free swim lessons.

🌟 Excellence in action! Meet Valeria Urbalejo, a proud graduate of Harbor Teacher Preparatory Academy and one of Los Angeles Unified’s 2026 Los Angeles Milken Scholars! ✨
Recognized for her academic excellence, leadership, and commitment to service, Valeria has earned a $10,000 scholarship along with mentorship, internships, and career development opportunities through the Milken Institute Scholars program.

☀️ ¡La aventura de verano continúa! Una nueva oportunidad de Campamentos de Enriquecimiento del Verano de Aprendizaje comienza el 21 de julio, brindando a los estudiantes más formas de explorar, crear, descubrir y disfrutar mientras aprenden.

Los estudiantes participarán en actividades prácticas, experiencias creativas y oportunidades emocionantes que fortalecen la confianza, despiertan la curiosidad y ayudan a desarrollar nuevas habilidades. Es un verano lleno de conexiones, descubrimientos y momentos que inspiran el aprendizaje.

📅 Nueva sesión de Campamentos de Enriquecimiento comienza el 21 de julio
📍 Las familias interesadas en inscribirse deben visitar en persona uno de los siguientes planteles:
• Escuela Intermedia Nobel
• Escuela Intermedia Edison
• Escuela Preparatoria Southeast
• Escuela Intermedia Berendo

🍎 Desayuno y almuerzo gratuitos disponibles para menores de 18 años en los planteles participantes.

☀️ The summer adventure continues! A new Summer of Learning Enrichment Camp opportunity kicks off July 21, bringing students even more ways to explore, create, discover, and have fun while learning.

Students will dive into hands-on activities, creative experiences, and engaging opportunities that build confidence, spark curiosity, and help them develop new skills. It’s a summer filled with connection, discovery, and moments that inspire learning.

📅 New Enrichment Camp session begins July 21
📍 Families interested in enrolling must visit one of the following school sites in person:
• Nobel Middle School
• Edison Middle School
• Southeast High School
• Berendo Middle School

🍎 Free breakfast and lunch available for children 18 years and younger at participating sites.
