Only hours after our students left the building, we have two major projects forging ahead. Legacy Contracting Group was on site at sunrise today doing demolition work on the Early Childhood Center kitchen, and Integrated Facility Services was climbing through the ECC ceiling preparing for our new HVAC equipment.

The Maplewood City Council issued a resolution on Tuesday commending Dr. Bonita Jamison for five years of distinguished service as superintendent of MRH Schools. It reads:
WHEREAS, Dr. Bonita Jamison has served as Superintendent of the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District since 2021, bringing to the role a combination of visionary leadership and practical ex*****on that has continued to transform the district; and
WHEREAS, under Dr. Jamison’s strategic leadership, the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District achieved a sustained pattern of improvement on the Missouri Annual Performance Report, earning 98.5% of possible point in 2025, the highest score of any K–12 district in the State of Missouri; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Jamison successfully guided the passage of bond and levy propositions to increase teacher salaries and fund critical capital improvements, negotiated the district’s first collective bargaining agreement, and implemented a comprehensive strategic plan developed through meaningful engagement with staff, board members, and the broader community; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Jamison has been a visible and committed presence in the Maplewood community, building strong partnerships with municipal government, nonprofit organizations, and local businesses to expand the district’s capacity to serve students, and leading a local coalition of church and community leaders to address unmet needs for vulnerable populations; and
WHEREAS, the success of the City of Maplewood and the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District are deeply intertwined, and Dr. Jamison’s leadership has made the collaborative vision set forth in the MRH Strategic Plan a reality, strengthening the social fabric of our entire community; and
WHEREAS, the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District is regularly cited by residents as a significant component of the community and a reason many people choose to call Maplewood home; and
WHEREAS, our entire community has benefitted from the exceptional and dedicated service rendered by Dr. Bonita Jamison as Superintendent of the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MAPLEWOOD, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Dr. Bonita Jamison is hereby honored and commended for five years of distinguished service as Superintendent of the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council congratulates Dr. Jamison on her appointment as Superintendent of the Hazelwood School District and extends its deepest gratitude for her transformative contributions to the students, families, staff, and community of Maplewood, offering its very best wishes for continued success in the years ahead.

Thursday, our Board of Education honored not one but two Families of the Year for 2026! The Wilbourns (left) were lauded as longtime supporters of athletics and fine arts, and the Dicks were saluted for their work with the Boosters and other volunteerism.
Family involvement helps create the kind of school community where students feel supported, connected, and ready to succeed. When families volunteer, attend events, share feedback, and partner with educators, they help strengthen relationships that make a lasting difference for students both inside and outside the classroom. Their involvement builds trust, encourages belonging, and reminds students that learning is valued not only at school, but at home and throughout the community. We are grateful for ALL of the many families who help make MRH a welcoming and supportive place for every student.

What do you get when you add 308 members of Blue Devils Nation to the coolest kids' museum in the midwest? An unforgettable evening of fun! Thank you to everyone who turned out on Wednesday evening for MRH Night at The Magic House, and thanks to our friends at CharacterPlus for making it happen!
Our soon-to-be graduates know the journey is coming to an end when it's time for the annual Senior Walk through all of our schools!
