McKinney residents and stakeholders are invited to provide feedback as City of McKinney staff prepare the city’s budget for Fiscal Year 2027 (FY27), which runs Oct. 1, 2026 – Sept. 30, 2027.

Feedback provided will be considered by staff during the current FY27 budget discussions and future fiscal years. The City Council will then consider the recommended budget, and the public will have additional opportunities to offer input during two public budget hearings in the fall.

Memorial Day is a time to honor America's heroes.

The City of McKinney offices and facilities are closed on Monday, May 25. There will be no trash and recycling collection on Monday. Collections will slide one day for the rest of the week.

The McKinney Armed Services Memorial Board will hold its annual Memorial Day Ceremony at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 25 at the Corporal RD Foster Veterans Memorial Park. The hour-long service will honor armed service members who lost their lives while serving our country.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month! 💚 The City of McKinney is proud to support and host THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson this week. Proceeds from the tournament benefit mental health programs through the Momentous Institute.

Let’s take a look at what happened at the Tuesday, May 19 McKinney City Council meeting:

• Council authorized the city to apply for federal Safe Streets and Roads for All grant funding to support transportation safety improvements and implementation projects.
• Council approved the sale of city-owned land near North Redbud Boulevard to Catholic Charities of Dallas for the future McKinney Neighbor HUB project.
• Council approved a construction contract for improvements to the Grady Littlejohn Softball & Baseball Complex at Towne Lake Park.
• Council approved an interlocal agreement with the Texas Department of Public Safety for the design and construction of a new public safety aviation facility at McKinney National Airport.
