DA Mulroy attended the Mental Health Court Gala, an event supporting the court’s ongoing rehabilitative efforts for individuals involved in the justice system. The gala helped raise funds to further programs focused on treatment, recovery, and reducing recidivism through a therapeutic approach to justice. Attendees wore green to help raise awareness for Mental Health Court and its mission.

CASE OF THE DAY:

Joshua “FullyNation” Fifer waived his bond hearing in General Sessions Division 7 on June 2, 2026

Defendant accepted the $1,000,000 bond and did not contest the determination

Prosecutors were prepared to present evidence regarding danger to the community and flight risk

Defendant remains in custody pending his preliminary hearing

Case stems from a May 20 shooting and police pursuit in Memphis

Prosecutors allege Fifer drove the vehicle involved in the incident and fled from officers

Fifer was later located and taken into custody

Jose Garcia charged with Aggravated R**e of a Child and R**e of a Child

Child victim testified during the preliminary hearing regarding years of alleged abuse

Judge found probable cause on all counts

Case was bound over to the Grand Jury

Defendant remains in custody on a $1,000,000 bond

Victim/Witness Coordinators Dr. Natasha Burnett, Jacqueline Chacon, Anastasia Bodan, and Brianna Poole recently attended the Crime Victim Law Conference in Portland, Oregon. The two-day conference featured sessions focused on victims’ rights, advocacy, and support across a variety of populations and crimes. We are proud of our team’s continued commitment to learning, growth, and serving victims in Shelby County.

This week in Washington, D.C., DA Steve Mulroy joined Chief Administrative Officer Jessica Indingaro and Assistant District Attorney Tracye Jones as they were admitted to the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States.

DA Mulroy, who was admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court Bar several years ago, also sponsored several fellow District Attorneys from other jurisdictions for admission this year.

We are proud to see members of our office recognized for their professionalism, legal excellence, and continued commitment to public service.

CASE OF THE DAY:

Andre “NuNu” Wilson pled guilty to Criminal Attempt First-Degree Murder

Received a 20-year sentence

Case stems from a 2023 shooting on Shasta Street

Victim was left paralyzed from the waist down

Prosecutors said the shooting followed a gambling dispute

Wilson allegedly shot the victim multiple times and stole his belongings before fleeing

Victim later identified Wilson during court proceedings
