What an incredible year we have had together! This year has been filled with learning, laughter, celebration, and so many moments that remind me just how special our Franklin community truly is. From our school-wide events and family traditions to the everyday victories happening in classrooms, our Firebirds continue to soar.

This year feels especially meaningful to me. Seven years ago, I was given the honor of becoming your principal. This year’s 6th graders were just beginning their journey as kindergartners, and I have had the absolute joy of watching you grow into the young adults you are today. That is something I will carry with me forever.

Franklin East is more than a school—it is a family, a nest filled with support, pride, and love. That is because of each of you. To our incredible staff, thank you for your dedication and heart. To our families, thank you for your trust, partnership, and unwavering support. And to our students—my Firebirds—YOU are the reason this place is so extraordinary.

As many of you know, this will be my final year as your proud principal and Mama Bird. While I am excited for the next chapter ahead, leaving this nest is not easy. This community has shaped me just as much as I hope I have impacted it.

There are never enough words to fully express how much you all mean to me. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your journeys, your growth, and your lives over these past seven years.

As we close this chapter, I hope you remember what we have always said… in a world where you can be anything, always be kind, and never forget… Your Mama Bird loves you, and I always will. Ca-Caw Ca-Caw.

Our hallways are shining EXTRA bright because our students are truly OUT OF THIS WORLD 🚀🪐✨! Congratulations to all of our 1st–6th grade students who met their math fact benchmark and earned their very own ⭐ star ⭐ on our display!

Each star represents hard work, determination, and lots of math fact power! ➕➖✖️➗ We are SO proud of our shining math stars for reaching their goals and showing that they can accomplish amazing things. 💫👏

This celebration is especially meaningful because it is the final Math Facts celebration for Principal Baxter 🥹💙. She wants every student to know how incredibly proud she is of their growth, effort, and success throughout the years. Watching our students shine brighter and brighter has truly been a gift! 🌠📚

Day 5 = DOUBLE the fun, DOUBLE the spirit!! 🧦🎉👕

We wrapped up Spirit Week in style with a double duty day—rocking our crazy socks 🧦🤪 AND our school spirit shirts 💙👕! From mismatched, colorful, over-the-top socks to proud school pride looks, today was the perfect grand finale! 🎊🔥

All week long we’ve seen tie-dye 🌈, twins 👯, mismatched madness 🤪, stripes 🦓, and now the craziest socks around! Our students and staff brought the energy, the creativity, and the FUN every single day! 🙌💥

What an unforgettable Spirit Week—full of laughs 😂, memories 💭, and tons of school pride! 💙🏫

🔬✨ 6th Grade Science Fair Success! ✨🔬

Our 6th graders put their scientific skills to the test and WOW did they impress! 🧪📊 From creative experiments to detailed tri-fold boards, students showcased their hard work and understanding of the scientific process every step of the way. 👩‍🔬👨‍🔬

To keep things fair, all names were hidden 🤫 and our amazing team of teacher-judges from across campus stepped in to score each project using a rubric 📝🏫. Every class celebrated their top scientists with 1st 🥇, 2nd 🥈, and 3rd 🥉 place ribbons at the start of the fair—what an exciting moment! 🎉👏

Families were invited to come explore the projects ❤️👨‍👩‍👧‍👦, and our younger students in grades 2–5 stopped by to ask questions and learn from our 6th grade experts 🧠💡. It was incredible to see curiosity, confidence, and collaboration all in one place! 🙌✨

What a ROAR-ing success at our final Band Concert of the year 🦖🎺🔥

From our Beginning Band building their sound with confidence, to our Intermediate musicians leveling up, to our Advanced Band bringing the power — every group delivered an amazing performance 👏🎶 We are so proud of the growth, effort, and energy our students showed all year long!

This concert had it all… dragons 🐉, monsters 👾, and epic storytelling through music that kept the audience on the edge of their seats!

A truly special moment of the night was the heartfelt dedication of “Firebirds” 🔥🐦 to Principal Baxter and Ms. Holste as they prepare to leave our school. Thank you both for your leadership, support, and the lasting impact you’ve made on our students and programs. You will be missed, and we wish you nothing but the best on your next adventures 💙✨

And then… the grand finale 🤯🎬 All THREE bands joined forces on stage for an unforgettable performance of the Jurassic Park theme 🦕🎼 led by none other than our surprise guest conductor… PRINCIPAL RAPTOR!!! 🦖🎉 Absolute legend status.

What a fun, memorable way to close out the year — bravo to all of our musicians and out fantastic band conductor, Mr. Hover! 👏🎵

Day 4 of Spirit Week had us seeing STRIPES everywhere! 👀🖤🤍

Striped socks 🧦, striped shirts 👕, striped pants 👖… YIKES, STRIPES!! 😆 It felt like a herd of zebras 🦓 had taken over campus—and honestly, we’re not mad about it! 😂🙌

From bold black-and-white classics to colorful lines 🌈, our students and staff really lined up their school spirit today! 🎉💥 You never knew where the next stripe sighting would be! 👀✨

At this point, we’re just wondering… are there any zebras still hiding out there? 🦓🤔

What an unforgettable night at our Final Orchestra Concert 🎻✨

From our Beginning players taking the stage with confidence, to our Intermediate musicians growing in skill, to our Advanced ensemble delivering truly powerful performances — every single group shined 🌟 We are so proud of the hard work, dedication, and heart our students brought all year long.

A special highlight was seeing many of our musicians step into small chamber groups 🎶 — showcasing not only their talent, but their courage and collaboration. It was incredible to watch them stretch and shine in new ways.

While we celebrate, we also say a heartfelt goodbye 💙 This concert marked Ms. Holste’s final performance as our conductor. Her impact on this program goes far beyond the music — she has built something truly special. Through her leadership, she has helped grow not only a strong orchestra program, but confident, expressive, and passionate students.

Ms. Holste, thank you for your dedication, your vision, and the countless hours you’ve poured into our students and our school. Your legacy will continue to echo in every note played 🎼 You will be deeply missed.

Bravo to all our musicians 👏 and best wishes to Ms. Holste on her next chapter 💫

Day 3 of Spirit Week = Mismatch Madness! 🤪👕🧦

Our students took fashion “rules” and tossed them right out the window today—and we are HERE for it! 🙌😂 From animal print 🐆🐅 to polka dots 🔴⚪, stripes ➡️⬅️, neon 🌟, and everything in between… the combos were wild, wacky, and totally wonderful! 🎨🧢👖

Who says things have to match to look good?! Today was all about bold choices, big personalities, and LOTS of laughs! 😆💥

We can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings… if it’s anything like today, it’s going to be unforgettable! 🎉🔥
