We believe that history is more than just relevant, it is essential.

Our museum in the McConnell Mansion is a friendly place for children and families to visit with historic rooms, changing exhibits, and hands-on activities for young visitors. We offer tours of the museum by appointment, a variety of educational programs, special and annual events, and publications and gifts from the Museum Store. Our research library, across the street from the McConnell Mansion in the Centennial Annex, houses thousands of documents, photographs, and genealogical information.

Incredible Idaho Women: 43 Inspiring Stories for All Ages tells the stories of dozens of women who shaped the state's history. They have made history, helped power rockets, gone to space, won gold medals, started businesses and more.

Each story was written by an Idaho author, paired with a custom portrait illustration by one of ten Idaho artists.
