On October 29, 2026, detectives with the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office conducted surveillance at a residence on Tinsley Drive in preparation for executing a search warrant following a lengthy investigation. During surveillance, detectives observed a suspected drug transaction that occurred independently from the investigation. A subsequent traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Davis Cosner after he was found to be in possession of illicit drugs. He was lodged at the Calloway County Detention Center.

Detectives then executed the search warrant at the residence, where Tracy Brant was found to be in possession of illicit drugs and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking. Detectives recovered multiple bags of suspected methamphetamine packaged for resale, with a combined weight of approximately 1.6 ounces. Brant was arrested and lodged at the Calloway County Detention Center.

Calloway County Detectives were assisted by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, the Murray Police Department and their K-9 partners.

On October 17, 2026, deputies responded to a reported armed robbery at a residence on Cambridge Drive in Murray. Upon arrival, the victim had sustained serious injuries to her head and face.

The victim, Leslie Davis, reported that an unknown male entered the residence and assaulted her with a loaded handgun while another female was present. The victim also reported that multiple items were stolen from the residence after the assault occurred. Nearby security-camera footage captured the suspect vehicle in the victim’s driveway around the time of the robbery.

Investigators do not believe the robbery was entirely random. During the investigation, Davis, was found to be in possession of illicit drugs under circumstances consistent with trafficking. She was lodged at the Calloway County Detention Center that same day.

During the investigation, detectives identified Michael B. Lane as the male suspect and Marla Salas as the female suspect. On October 20, investigators applied for a search warrant in Marshall County which led to the apprehension of Marla Salas who was lodged at the Marshall County Detention Center. Later in the evening of October 20th, investigators and deputies located and arrested Lane in Ballard County after a short manhunt on an active Calloway County warrant.

During a search conducted in Ballard County, investigators recovered a handgun believed to be connected to the assault which had blood spatter upon it, along with other items of evidentiary value. Lane was lodged at the Ballard County Detention Center.

On October 4, 2026, at approximately 7:30 a.m., deputies responded to a residence on Highway 121 North after a resident reported a man behaving strangely in her backyard. Deputies located the man, who appeared to be intoxicated, and found him in possession of illicit drugs. The quantity and packaging of the drugs, along with other items found on his person, were consistent with drug trafficking. He was arrested and lodged at the Calloway County Detention Center.

On September 28, 2026, Randall Jones was found guilty in Calloway County court of criminal abuse 3rd Deg. The conviction followed a July 2025 indictment stemming from a case presented by the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office.

After an ongoing investigation by Narcotics Detectives, the September Calloway County Grand Jury indicted Donald Carson on multiple charges. He was arrested on Sep 28, 2026 and lodged at the Calloway County Detention Center.
