For decades, Brooklyn’s 8th Ave has been more than just a street. It’s been a gathering place for Chinese Americans to pursue their dreams, build businesses, and start families.

Now, thanks to Council Member Susan Zhuang and community leaders, this intersection has a name that recognizes the generations of immigrants who built up this neighborhood in Sunset Park.

We were honored to welcome this fighter back to City Hall yesterday to issue a proclamation for her lifetime of service dedicated to the people of New York. NYC has been lucky to have her!
