The Socialist Party USA condemns the US sanctions on the International Criminal Court. US sanctions are a hegemonic assault on international rule of law and were forged solely as an attempt to create impunity for war crimes, crimes against humanity, and the war criminals who commit them.

The ICC is a body created to prevent genocide and ensure that countries and their leaders are held accountable for war crimes. The Trump regime's sanctioning of the ICC is a blow against human rights and further puts the US on the wrong side of history. This is just an escalation of the US campaign against human rights. As the US chose not to join the International Criminal Court and the International Court of Justice due to the likelihood that US leaders would be charged, tried, and convicted of war crimes, punishing the ICC with sanctions goes further than just a lack of support for justice, dignity, human rights, and the international rule of law.

These sanctions are a direct result of punitive efforts to punish the international community for attempting to hold Israeli officials responsible for their actions. This assault opens the door for a future where policies may be used against the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and possibly against the United Nations itself. These actions are a threat to the basic concept of international law, and thus a long-term threat to the rights of humanity.

The Socialist Party USA calls upon all people of conscience to stand with justice and human rights, end the sanctions, and call for all governments to sign on to the International Criminal Court. All governments around the world and their leaders should be subject to accountability and answerable to the international rule of law.

On Sunday, September 27th, the Central & Western NC (CWNC) chapter of the Socialist Party USA hosted a meetup at Deep Roots Market in Greensboro when several fascist agitators attempted to disrupt it. A dozen individuals carrying Confederate and N**i banners attempted to harass and intimidate members of the public while chanting anti-socialist slogans and making N**i salutes and shouting slurs. Members of the local community, however, quickly rallied and joined the SP members in a growing counter-demonstration that culminated in the fascists fleeing on foot and in vehicles. After that, the meetup proceeded uninterrupted.

The CWNC chapter would like to extend its deepest thanks to the people of Greensboro for their quick and heroic actions, while also highlighting the ongoing threat posed by far-right agitators. We encourage all comrades to remain vigilant and take whatever lawful measures are necessary to ensure the safety of themselves and their comrades.

We, the Socialist Party USA, refuse to allow our government to conduct mass surveillance in our name. On the people's behalf, the government has built a nationwide network of automated license plate readers (ALPRs) under many model and brand names that log the movements of millions of drivers. They have deployed AI-powered body cameras, facial recognition cameras, and spyware like Graphite, which can infect our phones to spy on our screens and activate our microphones without a single click. They have placed acoustic sensors in our neighborhoods that can capture our conversations under the guise of detecting gunshots. They have bought our location data from brokers to bypass the warrant requirements entirely. They have partnered with Amazon and other companies to turn private doorbell cameras into a distributed police surveillance network. We condemn the sprawling network of license plate readers, facial recognition systems, and biometric scanners that turn every public space, and private, into a checkpoint. We condemn the spyware, cell-site simulators, flock, Axis, Condor, Axon, svx devices, and other similar twisted mechanisms of their ilk.

They have hacked phones, tracked us, and compiled dossiers on citizens engaged in constitutionally protected activity. None of this was done with our consent. None of this makes us safer. It makes us watched, tracked, and controlled. We condemn these systems, the agencies that deploy them, and the elected officials who expand them without public debate or democratic oversight. We demand eradication of these systems.

We call for the people to rise up and actively resist the growing police state. We ask you to remember that all elected officials of conscience should be working toward dismantling this surveillance apparatus that does not make us safer. Let your city council member, mayor, or sheriff know that this is an intolerable violation to your rights in a free and fair society. Tell them you will not stand for your rights to be violated, and that you will act.

On September 16, members of the Ozarks Socialist Party alongside the Venceremos Labor Union, Northwest Arkansas DSA, Solidarity Union Network, Haymarket Books, and Bite Back Coalition hosted author and labor organizer Daniel Gross to Northwest Arkansas to discuss his new book, "Unions of Our Own".

The discussion was a free event and open to the public. The speakers for the evening were Daniel Gross and Venceremos' Executive Director, Magaly Licolli.

Northwest Arkansas is home to 3 Fortune 500 companies, multiple billionaires, and home to some of the most aggressive union-busting companies in the U.S. Northwest Arkansas, specifically Bentonville and Benton County, are considered a modern-day company town controlled by the Walton and Tyson heirs. As a central commerce hub for the U.S. and Arkansas as well as recent pushes by the Federal Government to push Arkansas into the forefront of weapons manufacturing for the Military-Industrial complex, highlights the need to organize workers in the region. It has become a critical issue for labor groups and organizers.

The discussion for the evening centered around rank-and-file union building and strategies, as well as a Q&A session for people to speak directly with the labor organizers.

Socialist Party USA Endorses Boycott of Starbucks

WHEREAS, More than 12,000 Starbucks baristas across the United States have organized with Workers United-SEIU in order to secure fair wages, adequate staffing, sufficient hours, workplace protections, and a voice on the job; and

WHEREAS, Despite nearly five years of worker organizing and bargaining efforts, Starbucks has failed to finalize a fair first collective bargaining agreement with union baristas; and

WHEREAS, Starbucks has become the largest violator of U.S. labor law in modern history, with repeated findings of unlawful conduct against workers exercising their legally protected right to organize and bargain collectively; and

WHEREAS, Starbucks workers are seeking a fair, reasonable contract that would provide better pay, better staffing, enough hours to earn a living and qualify for benefits, and stronger workplace protections; and

WHEREAS, Socialist Party USA members will always stand with working people across industries in the shared fight for dignity, respect, fair compensation, safe workplaces, and the fundamental right to organize; and

WHEREAS, The Socialist Party USA has a proud history of supporting workers engaged in collective action and collective bargaining struggles and recognizes that an injury to one worker is an injury to all workers; and

WHEREAS, Corporate greed and growing economic inequality threaten the well-being of working families and communities, while workers continue to struggle for a fair share of the wealth they create;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the Socialist Party USA hereby sanctions and endorses the boycott of Starbucks called for by Workers United-SEIU; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,

That the Socialist Party USA encourages its members and supporters to support union Starbucks baristas by refraining from purchasing Starbucks products until Starbucks finalizes a fair union contract with organized workers; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Socialist Party USA pledges to operate as a Starbucks-free organization during the duration of the boycott, meaning that Starbucks products shall not be purchased with organization funds for meetings, conferences, trainings, offices, conventions, or other official events; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,

That the Socialist Party USA shall communicate this action to SPUSA local and state organizations and encourage them to adopt similar Starbucks-free policies; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,

That the Socialist Party USA shall continue to stand in solidarity with union Starbucks baristas and support lawful actions aimed at securing a fair collective bargaining agreement; and

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED,

That this boycott shall remain in effect until Workers United-SEIU and Starbucks reach and ratify a fair union contract that addresses workers' demands for fair wages, adequate staffing, sufficient hours, workplace protections, and respect on the job.

The Socialist Party's Ballot Access and Electoral Working Group urges Americans to recognize and resist the Trump administration's efforts to maintain power through illegal and immoral control and manipulation of our electoral systems.

Earlier this year, Trump-appointed members of the Supreme Court joined the other conservative members in a continued gutting of the Voting Rights Act, allowing Republican-controlled legislatures to immediately begin redistricting majority-minority Congressional districts.

Trump and his Congressional allies have been continually pushing to pass the SAVE Act in response to the non-existent threat of non-U.S. citizens casting illegal votes. Expert analyses have determined that fraud

committed by non-eligible voters is infinitesimal, happening in less than one-tenth of one percent of votes cast. Trump continues to develop another aspect of his racist myth that America is being "taken over" by

criminal immigrants – this time to seize control of election oversight from states, where the Constitution plainly states it belongs.

Trump's efforts to control elections and voter registration also target women and transgender people, who his administration believes are likely to vote against him. The SAVE Act and other proposed rules are believed to require identification standards that women who have changed their name through marriage and people who have changed the gender marker on their state-issued identification will have difficulties meeting. Some states have already revoked identification from trans people whose gender markers do not match their gender marker assigned at birth.

Trump has issued an executive order requiring the United States Postal Service to use a federally-controlled list of approved voters as it delivers absentee and mail-in ballots in upcoming state elections. He has stated that voting by mail is a source of widespread fraud and has moved to ban it generally, while voting by mail himself earlier this year in Florida's primary election. Although a federal lawsuit was

immediately filed against this blatantly unconstitutional executive order, Trump is clearly attempting to use whatever power he can to attempt to steer election results to his favor in the 2026 midterm elections.

Early in 2026 Trump offered to withdraw ICE agents occupying Minneapolis if Minnesota officials agreed to hand over state voting data to him. This was the latest in a series of efforts to coerce and strong-arm

state officials into handing state voter data to Trump for centralization in a federal voter database.

The Democratic Party has joined Trump and the Republican Party in their bipartisan efforts to promote mid-cycle redistricting in an attempt to maintain or regain majority representation in Congress. Texas, Missouri,

Indiana, North Carolina, and Florida Republicans have already taken steps to redraw Congressional maps ahead of the 2026 election. Several Democrat-controlled states such as California and Virginia have taken similar steps. Maryland's legislature met recently in a special session solely devoted to a new redistricting that would eliminate Maryland's sole Republican-controlled Congressional seat.

The Socialist Party platform supports a number of reforms to protect free and fair elections, including proportional representation, public funding of campaigns, elimination of the Electoral College, ranked choice voting, and independent, non-partisan redistricting commissions.
