The Arc of Colorado is hitting the road to hear from community members around the state in in more rural and mountain areas.

Please share with folks you know who may be interested, and stay tuned for upcoming events here in Adams County with The Arc of Adams County đź‘€

We hope to see YOU soon! Spread the word!

You’ll notice that this year’s locations place a strong emphasis on rural outreach, particularly in communities not currently represented by a local Arc chapter. That said, if you are interested in The ArcCO hosting a session near you and/or in collaboration with your local Arc chapter - either along our current route or later this summer (mid-July through mid-August) - we’d love to hear from you!

Additional details for each location will be shared approximately two weeks prior to each session. Be sure to check back HERE for more information!

The Arc of Adams County would like to send a big ✨ THANK YOU ✨ to the Commerce City Police Department for their generous donation in honor of Autism Awareness Month in April. Your gift of funds raised by the Benevolent Badges program will help create more opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their families right here in our community.
We were also grateful to be invited to participate in your Cops for Inclusion event and to see firsthand the strong partnership between CCPD and families of children with diverse abilities. Your support helps ensure people with IDD can be valued, contributing members of their community, and it strengthens the inclusive community we all want for Commerce City and Adams County.

Spend a nice, cool spring day outside with us tomorrow at Cops for Inclusion at the Commerce City Police Department 🌻

TOMORROW!

Every child should feel safe contacting the police.

That’s why for the third year in a row, we can’t wait to host you at our annual “Cops for Inclusion” event, a meet and greet with our police officers designed especially for families with children on the Autism Spectrum.

You’ll sign up here for a block of time: https://www.c3gov.com/Public-Safety/Police-Department/CCPD-in-the-Community/Cops-for-Inclusion, then rotate through half a dozen stations where you’ll try on our uniforms, climb in our police vehicles, see our drones in action, pet our pups, race our motorcycle cops, and experiment with fingerprinting with our Crime Scene Investigators!

We have an incredible group of volunteer licensed behavioral therapists with The Arc of Adams County who will spend the day with us, ensuring every family feels comfortable!

Cops for Inclusion is TOMORROW outside the Civic Center beginning at 10am. Sign up (for free) for your spot and join us for this unique experience meant to build relationships with every member of our diverse community!

And happy Autism Awareness and Acceptance Month, Commerce City!
