I was proud to be honored as a 2026 Champion at UniqueSource’s Embrace the Abilities Event, but the real honor went to those who received Distinguished Service Awards from UniqueSource to people with disabilities who excelled in their employment placements.

Unique Source provides a workforce for businesses handling state procurement contracts that consists of people with disabilities who have the talent, capability, and qualifications to not simply do their jobs – but to excel at them. I believe that every person has something to contribute, no matter how they move through the world.

In this program Unique Source is not only providing opportunity to people with disabilities – opening doors that have long been shut – but it also provides an example and model for how businesses can access talented people who improve their services and products.

By linking 2,200 people with jobs that have paid more than $28M in wages, UniqueSource is showing businesses and the state that we can do the right thing and the smart thing at the same time. I am proud they chose to honor me this year.

It's a great day for the kids of the Riverwards!

I was thrilled to be invited to attend the grand re-opening of the 24th Police Athletic League of Philadelphia (PAL) this afternoon to celebrate this wonderful occasion! Now more than ever, our kids need places like this to be able to go and just be kids, and the relationships they get to build with our police officers is worth its weight in gold!

This project was completed in part thanks to a $1,000,000 RACP grant to the Police Athletic League of Philadelphia from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. My colleagues and I are always happy to support funding for spaces like these across the region.

This past Saturday, my office teamed up with Councilmember Mike Driscoll, Councilmember Rue Landau, and Congressman Brendan Boyle to host our Shredding and E-Recycling Event!

It was great to be able to help so many of our neighbors to safely dispose of their unwanted documents and electronics, and we even had some recycling bins to give out! Special thanks to Impact Services for all of your support, to our Sanitation department and SWEEP for providing the recycling bins and e-recycling, and of course we want to thank our friends at Home Depot for giving us a great space to host our event!

It was an absolutely BEAUTIFUL day for Fall events in the district!

There was pumpkin painting with Friends of Campbell Square, a costume contest for humans AND pets with Tacony Together, and a Trunk or Treat at ShopRite with the 15th Police District and Town Watch Integrated Services!

I had the honor to meet with the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia's Youth Diplomats during their first trip to the State Capitol. These young people are our future, and it was wonderful to converse with them about some of the most pressing issues we face as a city, state, and country.

In my work as a legislator, I always strive to be a voice for the voiceless, and animals are always among the top of that list.

I'm excited that this week we passed legislation that strengthens protections for dogs and cats used in research. This bill, which is supported by Humane World for Animals, is an important step in creating a more humane Pennsylvania for our furry friends.

If you have paper documents or electronic devices you are looking to get rid of, stop by our Shredding and E-Recycling Event this Saturday. We look forward to helping you dispose of your documents and devices in a safe and secure manner.
